If you’re looking for the perfect layering piece for spring, Lisa Snowdon’s crochet cardigan from This Morning is just the thing – and it’s available for under £50
Spring weather is prime time for layering, but if you’re bored of the usual knits and jackets, we’ve spotted a great alternative courtesy of Lisa Snowdon. As the resident fashion expert on This Morning, it’s no surprise that Lisa is nailing the current trends, and her crochet cardigan is the perfect example.
Her BHOEM Ecru Crochet Buttoned Cardigan made an appearance on last week’s This Morning, and it’s a great pick for spring that can be styled in so many ways. Whether you wear it on its own as a lightweight spring top, unbuttoned over a shirt or T-shirt or even layered underneath a thicker jumper, it’s a piece you’ll be reaching for time and time again.

Emma Louise Connolly’s ‘buttery soft’ Bottega-style M&S co-ord is great for spring layering
The Crochet Buttoned Cardigan is just thick enough that it can be worn by itself – as proven by Lisa wearing it on daytime TV – but it still brings that playful spring/summer feel with its crochet open weave. You could even throw it on as a swimsuit cover up whilst on holiday, or wear it over a more formal dress for a chilly evening.
It hails from Next for £49, and it seems fans have been quick to snap it up with a couple of sizes already starting to sell out. Currently the Crochet Buttoned Cardigan is out of stock in sizes 12-16, although as it’s a new launch it may be re-stocked soon.
If you did miss out, you could snap up a similar style from New Look, where the Cotton Rich Crochet Tie Front Cardigan is just £27.99 and comes in both cream and chocolate brown. This has a tie-up front, rather than a button fastening, but can still be worn as a top or as a layering piece.
We also spotted this Cream Collared Crochet Cardigan at River Island, which has a similar tie-up front but fastens at three points giving you more coverage. It’s also still in stock in all sizes from an XS to XL, so you can snap it up if you missed out on Lisa’s Next one.
If you do want to snap up Lisa’s BHOEM Ecru Crochet Buttoned Cardigan, it’s full of great details which make it a stylish and timeless choice. The rounded neckline means you can style it over or under plenty of things, and the subtle floral print on the front also gives it some interest without being too overwhelming.
It fastens with dainty covered buttons up the front, which give you even more styling options. Lisa left the top couple undone for a more laidback look, but you could unbutton the bottom few for a more fitted appearance, or leave it completely unbuttoned if you’d prefer to wear it as a layering piece.
