Three men suffered knife injuries at Egham train station in Surrey on Friday A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm

An investigation is underway after three students suffered knife injuries in a fight at a train station.

British Transport Police (BTP) were called to reports of a number of people with stab injuries Egham railway station in Surrey at around 9pm on Friday. A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and is in police custody.

Two men aged 20 suffered stab injuries while a third man, 18, suffered a slash injury to his face. None of the injuries to the men, – all three were students at Royal Holloway University of London – were life-threatening.

BTP Detective Superintendent David Udomhiaye said: “We’re aware of concerns from the local community and, while this is of course an incredibly serious incident, I can confirm that thankfully no one has been fatally injured. This is being treated as an isolated incident at the station involving two groups of people who we believe were not known to each other.”
