Some Brits could face snow in just a few days time with temperatures set to plummet as low as -4C in some parts of the country, according to weather maps
Snow and plunging temperatures are set to strike parts of Britain, weather forecasts suggest.
WXCharts maps created using MetDesk data have illuminated in purple and white, signalling that snow could be heading for the country in just a few days. Further maps have transformed to icy blue – indicating cold conditions – predicting snow could hit alongside freezing temperatures, plummeting as low as -4C.
Despite being midway through spring, Brits have been experiencing lower temperatures than anticipated over the past fortnight. The Met Office has also highlighted the possibility of “unsettled conditions” returning towards the month’s end.
According to WXCharts, April 25 could feel more like a winter’s day, particularly across Scotland and northern England.

Snowfall is anticipated from midnight onwards, with the map revealing a substantial purple area, denoting snow, spreading across the Scottish Highlands and blanketing Aberdeen and the North East.
It also shows a band of snow stretching from the Scottish borders down to Stoke-on-Trent, although it’s predicted to be light across the Greater Manchester to Staffordshire areas.
Accompanying the snow, temperatures are forecast to drop below zero, with predictions reaching as low as -3C across the Highlands and Perth and Cross. Meanwhile in North Yorkshire, temperatures will hit -4C.
Minimal temperature variation is anticipated throughout the day, with the nation ranging between -2C and 4C. The snowfall is also anticipated to persist well into the evening, before clearing up considerably across the North of England, reports the Express.
The Met Office long-range forecast for April 21 to April 30 has suggested the period may see “signs that more unsettled weather could return for a time”.
The long forecast said: “High pressure to the north of the UK will bring plenty of dry weather and sunny spells at first. A few scattered showers are possible in central and eastern areas.
“Parts of the east coast could be on the chilly side with low cloud and an onshore breeze, but further west it will feel quite warm, especially in sunnier areas. By the weekend, unsettled weather is signalled to return, but confidence in the details is low with a range of scenarios possible.
“One scenario is for a northerly wind bringing wintry showers to northern and eastern coasts, and some snow over Scottish mountains. If this does occur it will probably not last more than a few days, before high pressure attempts to return towards the end of the month.”
