The Lace Insert Midi Tiered Skirt from Marks and Spencer is perfect for sunnier days
With spring finally here, we’re making room in our wardrobes for pastel colours, lighter layers and floaty textures. While we’re seeing a whole range of trends reappearing as the sun returns, such as polka dots, butter yellow and more, one style I love year on year is the boho trend. Loved by celebrities like Sienna Miller, it’s an easy trend to jump on in the warmer weather thanks to its lacey finishes and loose fits that offer a flattering yet billowing silhouette that is airy and looks effortlessly chic.
Marks and Spencer has recently dropped some gorgeous new pieces, many of which are stunningly bohemian, including a Lace Insert Midi Tiered Skirt that shoppers love for its ‘feminine’ and ‘pretty’ style.
Costing £40, the skirt comes in three lengths – petite, regular and tall – and is still in stock in sizes six to 18 and is meant to be worn at ankle-grazing level, making it a good option to wear with sandals, trainers, boots and more.
Trimmed with delicate lace at the hem as well as its tiers, the skirt is seriously romantic and being an ivory hue is versatile for a range of occasions; it can be easily dressed down with an oversized graphic tee and some biker boots, or dressed up with a blouse and heels.
Fitted with an elasticated waistband, it should be a comfortable staple for the spring and summer that makes dinners out a breeze. We can imagine it working gorgeously on holiday, too, with some sandals, a strappy top and a tan. The skirt is fitted with a short lining underneath, to prevent it from being transparent, and looks to travel to the second tier, making it blend in easy.

The Lace Insert Midi Tiered Skirt has feminine flowing design that’s trimmed with delicate lace.
If this particular design isn’t quite fitting the bill, Urban Outfitters’ Textured Awkward Midi Skirt, £42, is a lovely alternative. It has an asymmetric, hankerchief-esque design that’s ‘boho-inspired’. With a panelled style, it’s made from a soft, textured fabric and has a low rise waist.
For a skirt that lets the lace do all the taking, Albaray has a lovely design in its Lace Maxi Skirt, £55. It features a flattering A line silhouette and a half lining, which gives a modern look.
Although, the Marks and Spencer skirt, despite having just arrived, has already accrued some glowing reviews, with one person raving: “Very pretty boho skirt, stylish and feminine! Already very useful.”
Another added: “Light weight and lovely cream colour.” Their only drawback was that it was ‘more than what I would normally pay and lined’ but that didn’t stop them from keeping it.
That said, for one shopper, the lace was a little too much, as they shared a low-scoring review which read: “Sorry but I really didn’t like this skirt – it is skimpy & looks like lingerie. Even the lined section is still transparent.”
