The Emirati city’s skyline was covered by thick plumes of black smoke on Friday morning and the financial district showed damage after it was hit by debris from an Iranian drone

Debris from Iranian kamikaze drones has struck Dubai’s financial district this morning as the war continues to wreak havoc on the popular holiday city.

The Emirati city’s skyline was covered by thick plumes of black smoke on Friday morning after flames broke out in an industrial area.

A cloud of grey smoke could be seen rising over the city from the blast site with the iconic Burj Khalifa rising in the background.

The images come a day after a fire broke out at a skyscraper near Dubai Creek Harbour after more Iranian strikes on the city.

Four people were also injured earlier this week in an Iranian attack on the city’s airport.

Local authorities confirmed on Friday that there had been no injuries reported in the latest attacks on Dubai International Financial Centre.

The latest explosion was the result of wreckage created from an aerial interception, officials added.

Gulf states continue to be pounded by the Iranian air assault across the region following the US-Israeli attack on Iran last week which saw supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei killed.

Two people have been killed in Oman after the downing of a drone in Sohar province, Oman’s state news agency is reporting this morning.

Meanwhile Israel’s Health Ministry says at least 2,975 people have been injured in the attacks since the US-Israel war on Iran started on February 28.

Saudi Arabia’s defence ministry says it destroyed at least 28 drones entering its airspace in a series of posts on X overnight.
