Shoppers have been leaving glowing reviews of the £30 dress reduced to £9
Sainsbury’s has reduced the price of a ‘gorgeous’ sweatshirt dress that is getting rave reviews from shoppers online. The outfit was originally £30, but thanks to a £21 reduction, customers can get their hands on it for only £9.
As part of Sainsbury’s fashion brand TU, shoppers can get the label’s Black Sweatshirt Combined Plisse Polka Dot Midaxi Dress for less than a tenner. However, according to Sainsbury’s website, the dress is already ‘selling fast’, and many people are viewing it online – likely due to the new discount.
The £9 polka-dot-printed dress comes with long sleeves and a plisse skirt layer underneath, and the matching black sweatshirt features a crew neck. Sizes start from a UK six and finish at 24. The majority of shoppers say the fit ‘comes as expected’.
In the product description, Sainsbury’s says: “Achieve a chic and contemporary look this season with our combined dress. Designed with a black sweatshirt layer, which has a crew neckline and ribbed trims, the skirt has been made in plisse fabric with a polka dot print for an elegant finish. Made in a midaxi length.”
Customers have awarded the £9 dress an average score of 4.2 stars out of five, Up to 76% of shoppers say they would recommend it.
In one five-star review, a shopper called Kazz wrote: “Love this dress, so comfortable and easy to wear. Smart enough for work as the skirt has a lovely drape. Long skirt length is perfect for me as I’m quite tall, but may be a little too long for anyone under 5ft 7. Got in the sale so incredibly good value and have just ordered another one at £9, it’s a bargain!”
Joanne said: “Love love love, so comfortable, lovely style, very comfortable.” Peggy put: “I already have this in Burgundy and love it so much have also ordered it in Khaki. Great with boots, trainers, or high heels. Great value in the sale!”
Andy said: “Well made and a good fit.” Someone else said: “I bought this in the sales and it fits well and I very pleased with it. The skirt part is dark enough not to see through if you are wearing black tights. Size and material are perfect. Well done, Tu, for lifting the quality of your clothes. Affordable, fashionable and good quality!”
Nick wrote: “Very comfortable to wear and is dressy as well as casual.” Helly commented: “Love this dress/sweatshirt combination. It is really comfortable and washes well!”
Another said: “I think it is elegant and will suit any age.” One more put: “The skirt itself is a little see through, but the jumper covers your bottom so its not on show. Lovely dress. Just seen it in a different colour so will be purchasing it.”
However, some customers shared a few issues. Carolina said: “The idea of it is cute but execution isn’t the greatest. The skirt was sown into the hem of the sweater with a non stretch thread so if you are a larger size this becomes an issue when you sit. Too bad because this would have been really cute otherwise.”
