There has been a number of urgent food and product recalls this week.
A number of urgent food and product recalls have been issued by retailers this week, with customers told to stop using the items. The Food Standards Agency has issued notices for 42 cakes and breads due to rodent contamination.
Anyone with the products has been urged not to eat them and to return them to the store from which they were purchased. Meanwhile, Aldi and Tesco have also issued recall notices over salmon and a dessert.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards shared a recall notice from Ann Summers, which is warning customers to stop using one of its intimate items. Here is a round-up of recalls from this week…
Saffron Pastries
A wide range of cakes and biscuits from Saffron Pastries have been urgently recalled due to a rodent contamination. Some of the products have best-before dates of 2027.
The FSA said: “If you have bought the products, do not eat them. Instead, return them to where you bought them from for a full refund. For more information email info@saffronpastries.com or call 01274 726101.”

Aldi’s salmon
This week, salmon was pulled from sale at Aldi over an incorrect use-by date. The FishMonger Hot Smoked 2 Salmon Fillets – Honey Roasted were recalled from customers.
It comes in a 180g packet with a use-by date of 25/06/2026. The correct use-by date for the salmon should actually be April 25, 2026.
Aldi said: “Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given. We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your co-operation.”
First National Bakery products
A wide range of bread products have been recalled due to a rodent contamination risk at the bakery manufacturing site. All products have a best-before date before the end of April.
Anyone with the products has been urged not to eat them and return the items to the point of sale for a full refund.

Tesco dessert
Tesco has recalled its Finest Summer Edition Chocolate Affogato Dessert due to potential plastic contamination. The affected 538g dessert has best-before dates up to and including April 2027.
It is unsafe to eat and customers have been told to return the item to any Tesco store for a refund.
Adult toy
Ann Summers recalled an intimate item this week, as it presents a risk of injury. The Ann Summers Remote Rotating Dildo can cause harm to users as parts of it can detach during use.
It is described as a dildo, approximately 6.5 inches in length, with a rotating and vibrating mechanism. The item was sold online and in-store between September 2025 and March 2026. It has a SKU number of 2008629 and a barcode 5050890824779.
The OPSS said: “Owners are advised to stop using the product and return it – either in store or via free postal return – for a full refund.”
