A fashion editor’s guide to picking the best H&M x Stella McCartney pieces as the new collection lands on shelves
British designer Stella McCartney is back with a new collection for H&M after a 20-year break from designing clothes for the high street brand. Back in 2005, Stella became the second major designer to collaborate with H&M, following in the footsteps of the iconic Carl Lagerfeld. Despite Stella’s first drop becoming a sell-out success, with pieces flying off the shelves within minutes, it’s taken her two decades to return with a second edit.
Even a quick glance at the items on offer proves it was worth the wait. With a focus on Stella’s trademark oversized, unisex tailoring and monochrome tones, the new range rings true to her roots, but features H&M pricing – though, admittedly, on the higher side of what the site offers.
However, if your budget doesn’t extend to the near £300 needed to add the blazers and jackets to your basket, this range also features smaller accessories like bag charms and jewellery.
Of the range, Stella says: “It is a true mix of current classics and some of my old favourites that showcase my first forays into fashion and the development of my signatures. It’s playful, strong, sparkling, joyful, refined.”
Here, our Mirror fashion lead finds the five pieces still in stock and worth splashing out on…

Draped One-Shoulder Dress
Shop it for £119
This one-shoulder mini dress feels very modern, with sheer chiffon and a subtle spotted jacquard giving it a softer edge. The layered draping at the front and back adds movement, while the bubble hem and strong shoulder detail make it feel more of a statement. It’s finished with a concealed side zip and a structured inner layer for a more flattering fit.
Single-Breasted Wool Blazer
Shop it for £229.99
This oversized blazer has a more structured, tailored feel thanks to the wool twill fabric and strong padded shoulders. The straight-cut shape, exaggerated lapels and sharp single-breasted front give it a polished, slightly masculine edge, while details like the engraved buttons and chain hanger loop make it feel more designer. It’s also fully lined.
Lace Trimmed Halterneck Top
Shop it for £64.99
This satin triangle top feels very 90s coded, with delicate lace trim and an open back that gives it a more dressed-up feel. The metal snake-chain neckline adds a bit of edge, almost like built-in jewellery, while the tie-back fastening keeps it minimal and easy to style with tailored trousers or denim. It’s something you could picture Kate Moss wearing in the 90s.
Oversized Panelled Poplin Shirt
Shop it for £74.99
This oversized cotton shirt gives a classic button-down a more fashionable feel with its mix of plain fabric and striped poplin panels. The relaxed dropped shoulders and longer back keep it oversized, while details like the embroidered chest pocket and engraved buttons make it feel more premium. It’s definitely peak Stella.
Two Tone Earrings
Shop them for £54.99
These mismatched chain-link earrings bring a slightly undone, mixed-metal feel to even simple outfits. With chunky diamond-cut links in contrasting silver and gold tones, they’re big enough to make a statement, but not so big that they take over, while the detachable link detail means you can switch up the look depending on your mood.
Stella’s H&M collaboration comes after Victoria Beckham’s highly anticipated GAP launch at the end of last month. Pieces flew out of stock fast, but if you’re lucky, you can still find some sizing for select pieces here.
