Mum-of-one, Joanna Kania has found the perfect place to get all the Easter egg hunt essentials you’re going to need, so keep reading to find out where and how she got on

If, like me you are a mum who likes to leave everything until the last minute, then you will have realised that Easter is fast approaching and you need to get your skates on.

The dreaded reminder message from the nursery that your child’s Easter bonnet has to be sent in this week was my first warning alarm.

The second was the fact that I had decided to host an Easter party for our fellow toddler parents and had zero Easter decorations or entertainment for the kids.

On to Amazon as my first port of call as I knew the retailer would allow me some next day or same day delivery options. I didn’t want my house to look like the Easter bunny had vomited tacky decorations all over it, so decided I wanted to keep inside our home more for the adults, and the outside is where I would place all the Easter ‘tat’, which I thought would be more to the toddlers liking.

Easter eggs the kids will love from chocolate dinosaurs to Paw Patrol gift set

We have a large and wide dining table so finding runners or table cloths that fit is normally pretty hard. To my delight I spotted a beautiful, subtle Easter Bunny Table Runner, £11.99 that met the dimensions I needed and the aesthetics I was hoping for. I wasn’t sure what the quality would be like but I was willing to risk it.

Both myself and the dog were very pleased with it and even when the dog decided to climb on the table with muddy paws and walk over it the table runner survived its first wash and didn’t lose any colour. Winner!

I also managed to pick up some Easter candles and an Easter wreath and some other bits for the house, so that was the adult aesthetics sorted.

Best Easter egg hunt essentials to buy

Now on to pleasing the little party guests.

To keep the toddlers occupied I restocked my supply of Crayola Jumbo Crayons, £4.50 so they could decorate their very own Easter wreaths.

Initially I was going to put on an Easter egg hunt but most of the children invited were under 3 so I was conscious as a mum of a 20-month-old that the hunt couldn’t solely be chocolate related otherwise we’d have several hyper toddler on our hands having eaten way too much chocolate.

So I’ve decided that some larger milk chocolate eggs would do, like this pack of Solid Milk Chocolate Easter Eggs, £9.99 for approximately 100 eggs which are perfect – this hopefully means they’ll consume a lot less. Fingers crossed. I also picked up some little baskets, £6.99 and these cute signs for £8.99 for the hunt.

While on the lookout for some non chocolate eggs to hide that would be fun and also safe, I remembered I had recently been introduced to a brand called Poundfun.

Their Easter selection is so good I literally fell down a rabbit hole (excuse the pun) and 20 minutes later had more than just eggs in my Easter basket! The amazing thing was that they offered a next day guaranteed delivery option too, Amazon who?!

Glittery Easter eggs that weren’t too small – yes please. Easter egg hunt signs with cute designs made of wood, into the basket you go. The Amazon ones I had bought on reflection would highly likely blow away. I told my husband they would be an investment as he started to question the amount of things arriving to the house and I still stand by that, and the price I mean come on – what a bargain!

On to a winner – I was also able to snap up some bits from Poundfun that would help with the artistic masterpiece that would be the bonnet for my daughters nursery competition. Since I’m very competitive, and having never made an Easter bonnet before, not even as a child (because it wasn’t a thing where I’m from) you might just understand why I needed it to be the best!

So here it is, the finished product that took me a few hours and that my daughter was not allowed to ‘help’ with for fear of ruining it.

I used Easter Bunny Decorations 4 Pack, Decorative Easter Feathers, Easter Nest Decorations, Decorative Daisies, Easter Head Boppers and it wouldn’t be Easter without some Chenille Chicks.

I was also pretty chuffed with my idea to insert the head boppers to keep the hat on my little one’s head, which works really well. Here you can see her giving it a test run and thinking ‘mum are you mad?’.

Poundfun did not disappoint and I will certainly be shopping there again soon.

If you’re looking for something to treat the family to this Easter, why not consider an Easter hamper like this one from Devon Hampers?
