A British holidaymaker has gone missing thousands of miles from home after last being seen on Christmas Day over FaceTime.
Mark Counsell, 31, from Pontypool, South Wales, is believed to be in Thailand or near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He had been travelling around Southeast Asia and was last seen by his family during a video call on the morning of December 25. He has since been reported missing and Gwent Police are trying to trace his whereabouts.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We’re appealing for information to find Mark Counsell, 31, who has been reported as missing. Mark was last seen on Thursday 25 December between 9am and 10am on video call, as he has been travelling Thailand recently.”
He is described as a white male, aged 31-years-old, 5ft 9in tall, with an average build. He was last seen wearing a khaki-coloured Fred Perry T-shirt.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Gwent Police on 101 or send the force a direct message on social media, quoting log reference 2600001644. “Mark is also urged to get in touch with us,” police added.
