This bestselling pregnancy pillow eased my hip and back pain overnight, says our 7-months pregnant shopping editor
At seven months pregnant, bedtime has become a humbling experience, to say the least. I used to roll into bed without thinking twice. Now I perform what feels like a nightly tactical manoeuvre involving approximately six cushions, several dramatic sighs and at least one complaint about my hips. After weeks of dreadful sleep, I did what every pregnant woman does at 3am: excessive research.
When it comes to the gold standard of pregnancy pillows, every road seems to lead back to the Momcozy Huggable U-Shaped Cotton Maternity Body Pillow, currently priced at £59.49 thanks to an Amazon Bank Holiday sale.
I saw it recommended everywhere from parenting forums to TikTok and Reddit threads. Usually, I take ‘life-changing’ product claims with a pinch of salt, especially when they come from TikTok, but it turns out, on this occasion, social media had it right.
The biggest difference for me has been the support around my hips and back. Before this arrived, I spent most nights endlessly rotating from side to side like a rotisserie chicken, trying to find a position which didn’t hurt. Now, the U-Shaped pillow keeps everything aligned properly, while also giving me something comfortable to wedge between my knees.
It’s also far softer than I expected. I worried it might feel bulky or stiff, but instead, it has a properly cocooning feel without flattening during the night. The cotton cover helps too. Since I overheat constantly at the moment, this doesn’t leave me feeling clammy or trapped.

If you get to reading this in the winter time, you can also pick up the U-Shaped Cotton Maternity Body Pillow in a velvet fabric, but I opted for the cotton for the summer months. You can also choose from colours ranging from baby pink to blue and grey. I went for pink, which seemed fitting since I’m having a little girl.
So far, I only have one tiny niggle: its size. This pillow is not subtle. On our king-size bed, it has gradually established itself as a dominant presence, often creeping well into my partner’s territory overnight. At one point, I woke up to find him balancing precariously on the edge of the mattress while the pillow occupied most of the centre. I felt bad for roughly three seconds.
It only takes a scroll through Amazon and Momcozy reviews to see that other buyers seem equally obsessed. One reviewer wrote: “Couldn’t live without this now. Really supportive but soft.” Another said: “I thought people were exaggerating about this pillow but I don’t know what I would do without it.” Frankly, I understand the drama now.
Another said: “I thought people were exaggerating about this pillow but I don’t know what I would do without it. It’s the only way I can sleep now while being pregnant. My husband even likes to use it when I’m not in bed.”
So would I recommend it? Absolutely. It does everything I want from a pillow, and I’ll actually be sad to lose it when the baby comes in a few months. However, if the price is a little steep for you, a runner-up I was looking at was Dunelm’s Comfortzone Large Cooling Pregnancy Pillow, £40, which also has rave reviews from shoppers.
