Delivery drivers for one of the UK’s biggest supermarkets, ASDA, have explained four pet peeves they have wish customers, with some behaviours needing to be changed immediately
Delivery drivers who work for ASDA have explained their pet peeves with customers, with some behaviours needing to be changed immediately. Working in retail is a hard gig, with lots of physical labour, long shifts on your feet and having to work with the general public.
Having to keep a smile on your face in this environment can be difficult, but many people who work in the industry do it so well everyday. But like everyone who works, we all need time to vent about our day, things that frustrate us and other problems.
With this being said, a number of ASDA delivery drivers turned to Reddit to express their feelings when it came to delivering shopping to customers.
The staff explained how four types of customers need to be stopped immediately to make their jobs easier. They replied under a post on the R/ASDA community asking what delivery drivers pet peeves were.
The post read: “I’m curious, Asda drivers of reddit, what stuff about this job annoys you? I’m curious if all supermarkets have the same issues.”
One driver simply replied: “People not having door numbers. Don’t order stuff if you don’t have a door number.”
A second agreed with this and said: “You’d be surprised how many people don’t have door numbers. You can sometimes go down 6-7 houses without a number.”
Another driver said: “If I can hear you putting the shopping in your cupboards/fridge/freezer, it’s so frustrating, I have a regular customer who orders 1.5 totes of shopping and I’m there for 15 minutes every week.”
One commenter couldn’t understand why customers do this, they said: “People do that? We just grab enough shopping bags for everything and bring it into the kitchen after the drivers gone.”
A third driver said: “People who have an early morning slot at a weekend and you have to knock them up out of bed. Have a later delivery!!”
A fourth added: “Why the f**k do nurseries and schools order a delivery between 8-9 am the same time as drop off.”
A fifth agreed and said: “Deliveries to schools when they book a slot between 8-9am and my ETA is 8:45am. Book a 10-11am slot so I’m not being slowed down by the school rush!”
