The combination isn’t available to order, but Ruben says it should be
An influencer tried McDonald’s ‘secret secret’ menu and said there is one very bizarre fan favourite combination. And Ruben Owen said he wishes the item would be on the menu full-time.
The sweet and savoury go-to? Two crispy hash browns with Oreo McFlurry sandwiched in the middle. In a clip, Ruben, from North Wales, said: “That’s not that bad. I thought it was going to be horrible. I’d have that again.”
It wasn’t the only bizarre creation at the event in Shoreditch, London at the start of this month. Another combination involved a savoury stack including a cheeseburger, BBQ sauce and chicken nuggets. Ruben said: “I’d never choose this but that’s not that bad.”
But his clear winner? The dessert-filled breakfast. He added: “The hash browns, the McFlurry, that was really nice. I would never ever have done that one. But I tell you now, that, I’ll be doing it again.”
It’s not the first time the two have been paired together, with various influencers spreading the word on social media. In 2023, there were reports of it becoming a trend.
Sadly, both items will never be made available to the public – and so Ruben was one of the lucky few to get his tastebuds on them. From today, the fast-food chain is offering a new menu of limited goodies.
Included is a Tikka Chicken Wrap, Pizza Mozzarella Dippers, Milkybar Crispy Cookie McFlurry, Munchies Vanilla Cheesecake McFlurry, Brownie Pie and Donut Crumble Latte. The Philly Cheese Stack is also making a comeback.
