Shoppers claim the stylish set is ‘very comfortable’ and does not break the bank
Dunelm shoppers have written rave reviews for one of the store’s newest “sturdy but comfortable” outdoor dining sets, which they say looks more expensive than its price tag suggests. The homeware store describes the set as “perfect for hosting friends and family” during the summer months.
The new Metal Garden Dining Set comes with eight pieces for £199. Available in either black or grey, shoppers get six seats, a matching glass-topped table, and a parasol. Shoppers will need to buy a parasol weight separately.
Describing the bundle online, Dunelm bosses said: “Enjoy versatile outdoor dining with the eight-piece dining set. Complete with a spacious table and six stackable chairs, this set is perfect for hosting friends and family. The textilene seats provide breathable comfort, and the stackable design makes storage simple.”
The set is not available for click-and-collect from Dunelm stores; shoppers can only arrange home delivery. This comes with a £12.95 fee, and items are usually shipped within a matter of days.
There are similar garden sets available elsewhere, including the Pacific Six Seater Folding Metal Patio Set from Argos (£200, reduced to £160 with the GREEN20 discount code at checkout). Or, there’s the Arosa Six Seater Dining Table and Chair Set from The Range (£149.99).
But shoppers have been impressed by the “perfect for hosting” Dunelm option. Online, it has mostly glowing reviews from people who have purchased it for their gardens.
One said: “Nice and simple to assemble. Very sturdy. Great for family lunches outdoors.” Another put: “Great table and chairs with comfy seating and very spacious.”
A third shopper shared: “Really sturdy but comfortable dining set. I didn’t want to break the bank, so I opted for something more hard-wearing. [It] complements my new patio and I’m really happy with my purchase.”
Someone else put in their review: “Really happy with our new patio set. The chairs are very comfortable, water-resistant and can easily seat six people. Really love the muted grey, it looks more expensive than it is. Fairly easy to construct, although you definitely need two people for some parts!”
Not everyone was willing to leave glowing reviews; a handful reported that their product arrived without instructions for assembling the set. Some claimed they were able to get these from customer service or download them from the Dunelm website, but the product page also includes a short video of how to assemble the chairs.
However, the majority of people were pleased, like one shopper who said: “We were looking for something practical and at a reasonable price too. The table and chairs are of excellent quality and relatively straightforward to assemble.”
