Dunelm shoppers are ‘very happy’ with their latest purchase praising the faux olive tree for looking real and elevating an outdoor space
From patios to porches, Dunelm’s Artificial Olive Tree in a Rustic Pot is transforming homeowner’s outdoor areas and now on sale for 20% off, it’s even more of a ‘good purchase’. Originally £69 but now down to £55.20, the faux olive tree ‘looks very real and effective’ but requires ‘no maintenance or clearing up dead leaves’.
Bringing the essence of the Mediterranean to any garden this spring and summer, customers are sprucing up their front doors by placing one either side, and giving dull decking some interest by popping one there. The faux plant is UV treated so it is suitable for outdoor use and won’t fade in the sun.
It is recommended for bad weather to bring the plant indoors, however, it is wipe clean should it get a bit dirty over time. The rustic and charming pot is included so Dunelm customers are getting the entire olive tree, plus pot, for under £56 in the sale.
Giving styling tips, one person gave their home even more curb appeal with Dunelm’s olive tree, writing: “Bought these for each side of our front door. We put them in bigger pots and added cream stones on top. We opened up each branch, and you can bend them as you prefer. They look so real and we’ve had lots of compliments.”
A second person echoed their view on how realistic the plant looks, commenting: “Very happy with the plant – good quality and looks real.” And a third said: “Lovely looking tree looks very nice on my patio very realistic.”

While there are several faux olive trees available at other retailers that are suitable for indoor use, it’s a lot trickier to find ones that are durable enough to be kept outdoors. Measuring 150cm in height (compared to Dunelm’s 100cm option), this Artificial UV Premium Olive Tree with Pot retails for £129.90 at Evergreen Direct.
For a cheaper alternative, there’s the Verinatural Artificial Olive Tree (180cm) for £79.999 at Amazon, however, it does not come with a pot. Shoppers confirm it is ‘so realistic’, with one person even saying ‘it’s the best artificial tree I’ve seen’.
Back to Dunelm’s offering, a happy customer wrote: “Purchased this olive tree specifically for stone paved area in my small garden. Looks great in situ, really pleased with it. Easily moved if the weather is horrendous. Well packaged and ready to site once unboxed.”
Someone else did state that it might blow over, but this can be helped by popping a few stones in the pot or moving the plant to a more sheltered area. They shared: “Very pleased with my purchase of this olive tree.
“Excellent quality and looked extremely realistic. Has blown over a few times in the high winds over the last week but repositioning it has worked wonders.”
Another person noted it looks best after a few tweaks, putting theirs inside the home rather than outdoors. Their review reads: “Very realistic once branches are tweaked. Fits perfectly in an awkward corner of my conservatory.
“Love the pebble effect in the container too – much nicer than the very obvious plastic pots a lot of artificial plants are supplied with. A great purchase and very happy!”
