Shoppers felt the budget version still looked ‘so expensive’ and ‘chic’
Home Bargains shoppers could save £40 by choosing a budget-friendly yet “chic” vase to elevate their decor, rather than a version that costs five times as much. Not available online, Home Bargains’ Ceramic Waved Vase is sold in stores across the UK for £9.99.
One shopper on social media (@Interiorfindsedit) claims the vase looks “so chic” and caught their eye “immediately” while they were out shopping. The neutral-coloured vase has a swirling pattern of waves throughout, raised to add texture around the entire vase.
In the comments, an Instagram user claims the vase “looks so expensive,” given that Home Bargains is asking customers only £10 for it. Another said that the tall vase is a “beauty”.
Online, there are other designs similar to the Home Bargains version that cost more. For example, Next is selling a similar-looking vase for £50, which is £40 more than the discounted option.
The Natural Ceramic Fairford Textured Large Vase comes in three sizes, with the large option being the closest match to Home Bargains’ offering. On its website, Next said: “Introducing the new Fairford Textured Ceramic Vase, a stunning addition to our popular Fairford range.
“Its unique, flowing texture creates a captivating visual and tactile experience, making it a statement piece for any room. Perfect for displaying grand floral arrangements or showcasing its sculptural form.”
The pattern itself may not be 100% identical to Home Bargains, but it is similar in terms of colour and general style. Shoppers claim it is “absolutely gorgeous” and a “nice neutral colour that will fit in with most colour schemes”, according to the reviews.
In other news, B&M has released a “decorative” £12 light feature that’s said to be “perfect for side tables and bedsides”. With a trendy ‘mushroom’ design, the Cream Mushroom Lamp also arguably resembles a pricier style from Next. Shoppers could compare the style to Next’s £45 Nickel Lambeth Rechargeable Wireless Table Lamp.
While there are some differences in design and build, there are also several similarities. Both high street stores have opted for a cream mushroom shade with a silver-coloured stand on a round base.
B&M shoppers could therefore prefer the cheaper option if price is a key consideration. However, the Next option is still likely to have many fans, due to its nickel base and wireless design.
