The supermarket has refreshed its garden range to include new £24.99 furniture
Aldi has launched a ‘stylish’ new garden chair that arguably resembles a pricier version. Shoppers often visit the supermarket in search of budget-friendly homeware and accessories, as the high street store often includes these items in its SpecialBuy deals.
The upcoming May 21 launch includes a £24.99 Garden Design String Chair that could be compared to an option from another retailer. Aldi’s garden chair could be viewed as a rival to B&Q’s £114.99 Garden Chair Rattan Blue from the brand Beliani.
Both furniture pieces share design similarities, as the retailers have opted for similar string chairs in a summer-ready blue shade. However, the Aldi version is significantly cheaper than the furniture sold at B&Q. So while shoppers might prefer the pricier chair, given the differences between the products, the Aldi furniture could impress customers shopping on a budget.
Aldi describes its chair as ‘stylish’ and ‘stackable’. The product description says: “Simple, stylish seating for any outdoor space. Dimensions when set up: (W/D/H) 74cm x 70cm x 96cm (approx.) Oval shape. Stackable to save space. Maximum load 120kg (approx.) For private outdoor use.”
The chair comes with a three-year warranty, and it is available in blue or orange. Launching next Thursday (May 21), customers interested in the furniture can purchase it in stores.
B&Q describes the Beliani chair as ‘eye-catching’ and ‘contemporary’. The product description says: “This eye-catching chair inspired by the iconic Mexican design will refresh any indoor and outdoor living space. Its seat features precise string weaving made of PE rattan.
“The base with four legs, which is constructed of powder coated steel, provides total stability. This chair will work well as an accent piece for any contemporary outdoor décor, but also as an indoor living room furniture.”
The chair is available in blue or green. Shoppers interested in the furniture can purchase it online for home delivery; it is not available in stores.
Alternatively, other retailers offer outdoor chairs. For instance, Dunelm stocks a £49 Riviera Garden Chair with a ‘stackable’ design. The product description says: “Fashioned from resilient steel and featuring an eye-catching multi-colour weave design, this chair embodies both charm and durability.
“Its stackable design facilitates effortless storage and portability, catering to your convenience. The delightful combination of blue and white hues infuses a refreshing energy into your outdoor setting.
“Notably easy to clean, this chair maintains its allure while offering functionality, perfect for lounging in style or complementing your outdoor decor with a playful touch.”
