Loose Women star Ruth Langsford headed to Chelsea Flower Show this week and picked the perfect floral dress for the event – and not only is it affordable, but it’s versatile too
This weekend marks the end of the Chelsea Flower Show, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t still appreciating some of the outfits we spotted at this year’s event. And although CFS is the perfect occasion to pull out your best florals, there’ll still be plenty more opportunities to re-wear them throughout the summer, especially when you pick a dress as versatile as Ruth Langsford’s.
The Loose Women star opted for the Floral Motif Printed Ric Rac V-Neck Midi Dress from the Love & Roses x RHS collaboration, which was perfectly matched for the horticultural event. However, its loose, flowing fit and vibrant pattern means it’s versatile enough to wear all through summer, whether it’s to a wedding or just out for lunch.

Ruth’s Floral Motif Midi Dress is reasonably priced at just £66, and it comes in both petite and regular lengths so you can make sure you get a great fit. It’s also available in sizes eight to 22 in the regular length, whilst the petite dress comes in sixes six to 20.
The dress was designed in collaboration with the Royal Horticultural Society, which makes it the perfect pick for wearing to Chelsea Flower Show. And whilst it’s formal enough for an event, it has subtle details which mean you could just as easily dress it down for more casual moments.
The flattering V-neckline, puff sleeves and relaxed fit let you dress is up with heels or wedges, but it’s a dress you could just as easily team with sandals or trainers to head out for lunch in or to wear on holiday. The Floral Motif Midi Dress is made from 100% cotton which keeps it light and breezy in the warm weather, and has a feminine ric rac trim along the neckline for some added elevated details.
If you want a print that’s not quite as bold and colourful, this understated White Floral Atlas Midi Dress from Nobody’s Child is perfect, especially now it has 25% off with the code PICKME . Meanwhile Boden’s Twist Front Linen Blend Dress comes in a rich purple floral print with a fit and flare silhouette, and is made from a breathable linen blend. The code 3PPA will also reduce it down from £149 to £111.75.
However Next’s Floral Motif Midi Dress is the more affordable pick of the three, and has been praised by Next shoppers. One said: “I love this dress! It is so comfortable and pretty. I like that it is lined and I know I will wear it lots during the summer.”
Another wrote: “True to size, beautiful dress beautiful colours.” Whilst a third added: “A lovely floral dress, almost like wearing a garden. I love the RHS collection, a taste of summertime.”
One did mention, however: “This is a beautiful dress and I ordered size 12 petite, but the large floral fabric and flouncy style didn’t suit me at all. Sadly I had to return it.”
Whilst another also wrote: “Lovely dress , just didn’t suit me.”
