Police have warned drivers to avoid the area this afternoon with the Manchester Airport link road likely to remain closed for some time.
A statement from Greater Manchester Police reads: “We are dealing with a serious incident on the A555 Manchester Airport Relief Road between Cheadle and Poynton with both sides of the carriageway currently closed. Motorists are advised to stay clear of the area.”
