Two people have been arrested after a 17-year-old biker was killed in a collision with a car.
Emergency crews raced to the incident at Northam Bridge, Southampton, shortly after 1.20am on Saturday.
Two males, aged 17 and 29, were inside the silver VW Polo when it struck the white Yamaha YZF, Hampshire Constabulary said. They have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving and are in custody, the force said.
The teenage motorcyclist from Fareham, Hampshire, sadly died in hospital from his injuries.
Hampshire Constabulary said: “We would like to thank motorists for their patience as the Northam Bridge was closed for several hours before it could be reopened.
“We would like to speak to any witnesses and in particular anyone with relevant dash cam footage of the incident or the moments leading up to it.”
