West Midlands Police are investigating after a man was found dead in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter
A young man has tragically died after he was found lying on a city road with serious injuries.
West Midlands Police were called to Mott Street in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter at 12.30am today (Monday, April 20). The 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say they are probing the circumstances around the incident. No arrests have been made and inquiries are continuing with multiple officers still at the scene and the street sealed off in both directions. A blue forensic tent can be seen beside a police car.

A police spokeswoman told BirminghamLive: “An investigation has been launched after a man was found unresponsive in Birmingham city centre this morning (April 20).
“Officers were called to Mott Street just after 12.30am where a man was found lying in the road with serious injuries.
“The 27-year-old was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation is underway to establish what happened including CCTV enquiries.
“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area between midnight and 1am to get in touch. In particular anyone who has any dash-cam footage is asked to call 101 quoting log 103 of April 20.”
