It has left staff jobless and customers with unfulfilled orders
Wren Kitchens has abruptly shut all 15 of its stores after filing for bankruptcy liquidation just days ago. It leaves every member of staff at those locations out of work as the British firm pulls out of the US market.
The UK’s leading fitted kitchen retailer has closed all its East Coast US showrooms, as well as its Wren Kitchen Studios within Home Depot stores. The closures follow the company’s filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation
Wren filed the US legal process that enables businesses to wipe out debts by selling off assets to pay back creditors on Friday, April 24.
Home Depot said in a statement to WFSB-TV: “Wren Kitchens has alerted us that they’ve ceased operations in the United States, which includes closing their showrooms in our stores.
“We had no previous notice of Wren’s intent to close, and we’re actively evaluating how this has affected Wren customers to help those who may have questions or issues. For questions about operations, please contact Wren directly.”
A message posted on the Wren website also read: “We regret to inform you that our showrooms and studios are now closed.
“If you require assistance, please click button and complete the form.”
The family-run business, trading as Wren US Holdings Inc., filed for bankruptcy in the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, listing between $100million (£73million) and $500million (£370million) in assets.
Reports suggest that staff at the outlets received no advance warning before being made redundant.
The sudden closures have left numerous customers in limbo, uncertain whether they’ll recoup payments made to Wren.
Some are stuck with outstanding kitchen orders they’ve already paid for in full.
As of early 2026, Wren Kitchens ran more than 110 showrooms throughout the UK.
As the nation’s leading specialist kitchen retailer, the firm stated it was experiencing rapid growth and anticipated establishing a footprint in major towns and cities nationwide.
The Mirror has contacted Wren Kitchens for comment.
