Chloe Rose had been trying for a baby since 2019
A woman feared she would never have children until she started taking Mounjaro, lost six stone, and quickly fell pregnant. Chloe Rose fell pregnant just weeks after she stopped using the jab, following years of infertility.
The 25-year-old, who doesn’t wish to disclose her starting weight, slimmed down from a size 20 to a size 10 after struggling with her weight since she was a teenager. Chloe and her husband started trying for a baby in 2019 but after years of failing to conceive, they went to doctors.
In January 2024 Chloe was placed on an NHS fertility treatment trial, but says this had to be stopped early due to her weight. Realising she would need to lose weight in order to fulfil her dream of starting a family, Chloe ordered the £135 skinny jab from an online pharmacy in July 2024.
Chloe lost a whopping six stone in just five months after years of struggling to shed the weight due to health conditions including polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), arthritis, and the steroid medication she was taking. The mum-of-one was stunned to discover she was pregnant in January 2025, just three weeks after she stopped using Mounjaro.
Chloe credits the skinny jab with helping her to lose the weight she needed in order to fall pregnant, but admits she wouldn’t recommend it to everyone. Chloe, from Stanwell, Surrey, said: “We started trying for a baby back in 2019. We tried for years and years but nothing happened so we went to the doctors.
“They referred us to fertility specialists and we had two rounds of treatment on the NHS. It was just a trial but I had two rounds of that and it didn’t work for me unfortunately. I ended up putting a lot of weight on while I was on the trial so they took us off the trial entirely because of my weight.
“I think the fact that I couldn’t do it because I weighed too much put into my head that if I want any further treatment anywhere for my fertility, I’m going to have to lose weight. I’d tried every diet, every exercise, I was going to the gym while I was on the trial but nothing was working.”
Desperate to shift the weight, Chloe started using Mounjaro in July 2024 and lost six stone up until she stopped using it in December 2024. Chloe said: “I felt great, I found that it made me feel really free. I was losing weight, I was feeling more comfortable with my body.
“I was able to wear the clothes I wanted to wear, my body just felt really good on it.” Chloe found out she was pregnant just weeks after she stopped using the jab on January 20, 2025.
Her baby girl, Jeanie, was born on September 18, 2025 weighing 5lbs 1oz. Chloe said: “I was ecstatic when I found out I was pregnant, but I was obviously terrified because you are meant to not be on Mounjaro for two months before you fall pregnant. I was terrified that I’d done something by mistake.
“I really wasn’t expecting it because prior to this I hadn’t had a period for six years because my PCOS was so bad. I fell pregnant without having a period so I just wasn’t expecting it at all. I was so happy and so excited that I got where I wanted to be eventually. At that point we’d been trying for a baby for six years.”
Chloe credits Mounjaro with helping her to lose the weight she needed to in order to fall pregnant. Chloe said: “Mounjaro helped to give me the baby I’d always hoped for. I think that the weight loss is massively what did it but Mounjaro definitely kickstarted that journey for me.”
Despite it helping to give her the baby she always hoped for, Chloe says she wouldn’t recommend Mounjaro to everyone. Chloe said: “I think Mounjaro helped me to lose weight, but the weight loss is what helped me to fall pregnant.
“If people are struggling with their weight and they would like to get pregnant I would say try Mounjaro but it depends on why people are struggling to get pregnant. It’s such an open-ended conversation, there are many aspects of people struggling to get pregnant. Going on it won’t always help you fall pregnant […] but it definitely helped me.”
A spokesperson for Lilly, who manufacture Mounjaro, said: “A Mounjaro (tirzepatide) should only be used when prescribed by a licensed healthcare professional, and prescriptions should be fulfilled and supplied by registered pharmacies or providers.
“We encourage patients to consult their doctor or other healthcare professional to discuss any possible side effects they may be experiencing and to ensure that they are getting genuine Lilly medicine.
