An unnamed man, aged 34, has been arrested in connection with an alleged rape at a car garage showroom in Edinburgh, with members of the force confirming the arrest
A man has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman in a car garage showroom.
Police confirmed earlier today a suspect had been arrested in connection with the alleged rape, which is being investigated by Police Scotland. Members of the force were called to Peter Vardy BMW premises in the Seafield Road area of Edinburgh at about 1.35pm on Sunday, November 3.
A report of serious sexual assault had been made to officers who later attended the scene. A 34-year-old was arrested in connection with the incident and released pending further enquiries. Investigations remain ongoing, police have said. A statement from Police Scotland has since confirmed the arrest.
Their statement reads: “Around 1.35pm on Sunday, 3 November, 2024, we received a report of a serious sexual assault of a woman at a premises in the Seafield Road area of Edinburgh.
“A 34-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and released pending further enquiries which remain ongoing.”
