A woman who found a pair of heels in a charity shop for just £10 was gobsmacked when she learnt how much they were really worth, as she declared them the ‘find of the century’

Woman buys £10 weeks from charity shop and ends with ‘find of the century’

Hunting for treasures in a charity shop is always something of a lottery. Whilst you might occasionally hear tales of folk discovering high-end designer pieces for pennies, more often than not, you’ll be confronted with rails packed with gear from familiar high street names. These items do the job, naturally, but they scarcely deliver that same rush of bagging a proper bargain like uncovering a luxury label would.

However, one Manchester woman proclaimed she’d unearthed the “find of the century” after spotting a pair of heels in her neighbourhood charity shop for a mere £10 – considering they were worth considerably more than what she’d splashed out. Holly Wood frequently showcases her thrifty discoveries across social media, leaving followers utterly stunned by her latest acquisition.

In a fresh TikTok clip, the 39-year-old filmed herself examining the sleek black heels, which boasted a sharp pointed toe and delicate ankle fastening. The footwear was tagged at only £10, and once Holly clocked the label, she realised she had to snap them up straight away.

Though they appeared to be just another ordinary pair of black heels, they were actually Stella McCartney creations. Had Holly purchased them fresh from the designer boutique, she would’ve needed to shell out an eye-watering £325.

Holly exclaimed: “I’ve never thrifted anything like this. The brand is next level. Look at these absolute freaking beauties. They’re Stella McCartney. Stella McCartney. They still have the tag, the original tag on the bottom.

“They don’t look like they’ve ever been worn. They look like they’ve been in someone’s wardrobe. £325, they were originally sold for. As you can see there, I got them for a tenner.”

The psychology coach continued by explaining that she “loves” the silhouette of the footwear, as they possess an “elevated” appearance that she reckons you only discover in heels from premium designer labels.

Followers responding to Holly’s post were stunned by the incredible deal she’d secured, with numerous people revealing she’d actually motivated them to pop into their own local charity shop to see what treasures they might uncover.

One person said: “You have purchased some super bargains.”

Another added: “You inspired me to go charity shop shopping!”

A third posted: “You’ve got some bargains, love the shoes, you lucky girl!!”

The self-proclaimed “shopaholic” consistently snaps up designer steals and has recently secured other massive discounts, including a £246 Coach bag for just £5, a vintage Vera Wang dress for just £7, and a Reiss waistcoat worth around £100 for £4.

She said: “I am racking up the incredible brands so far this year, and it just goes to show, go and check out your local charity shops, because you never know what you’re going to find.”
