Cleaning guru Mrs Hinch has shared a simple but effective cleaning hack that has left her ‘absolutely buzzing,’ and it’s great for removing stains from grout.
Regardless of how often you clean the floors or scrub your kitchen and bathroom tiles, if the grout is dirty and stained, the entire area will still appear unclean. There are several methods you can use to bring it back to its original shine, but cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch, aka Sophie Hinchliffe, has left her followers gobsmacked with a simple yet effective cleaning trick that’s got her “absolutely buzzing”.
The cleaning pro, who’s built up nearly five million Instagram followers, is best known for her incredible cleaning hacks that she shares with her followers. This time, she let her fans in on a quick and easy grout cleaning tip.
While cleaning her home, Mrs Hinch noticed that her technique for sorting the kitchen floor would be something her followers would love to see, as she constantly got questions about it.
In a brief Instagram story, she said: “Currently sitting on my kitchen floor. I wasn’t going to film this, and then I thought, ‘Do you know what, I will’, because so many people ask me about grout in tiles.”
She then shared the product she used to get her grout gleaming white again, which was a magic eraser.
“This is a damp magic eraser. I have got a bit of Elbow Grease as well, just in case it’s a little too stubborn,” she explained as she used the eraser to wipe down a section of the grout, which was immediately cleaned.
Sophie said: “Feel like I’ve got a new floor. So if you need to tackle your dirty grout, buy some magic erasers. Look at the difference. Absolutely buzzing.”
Created out of melamine foam, magic erasers are an absolute must-have in any cleaning cupboard. The most popular reason for this nifty gadget is lifting marks from various surfaces.
Chemical-free, it’s the rough texture of a magic eraser that delivers fantastic cleaning results.
Shoppers can snap up a trio of these clever cleaning sponges from B&Q for £2. That’s just 67p each. Or, these magic erasers are available in bulk (50-pack) from Amazon for £7.99.
If you’re after another natural method to brighten discoloured grout, households can use baking soda mixed into a paste with water, which performs brilliantly.
Another possible method is to use steam, as it works more quickly at banishing stains from grout without needing to scrub.
