From Chelsea Peers PJs to M&S glassware, perfume and concert tickets, Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to treat your loved one to something special
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and while flowers, chocolates and a nice meal out are all well and good, getting something sentimental and personal for our loved ones will ensure some serious partner points. With just one week to go, keen gifters have just days to snag their love the perfect gift as a token of their appreciation.
If this deadline instils serious fear, causing you to draw a complete blank when it comes to thinking up the best romantic pressie, our team of expert shoppers have shared what they’re after this Valentine’s Day, to give just a few hints for inspiration.
Whether they’re a perfume lover, a Lego fan, love a good artisan mug, are a bit of a gig buff or love reading – to name just a few things – we’ve curated a list of items that are on our own wishlist for the big day.
We’ve got things for a range of budgets too, from a £10 kitchen necessity to £58 PJs to around £100 Harry Styles tickets, so there’s something for all in there.
Narin’s pick: Bouquet of Lego Sunflowers (£54.99)
If you think Lego is just for kids, you’re long out of date. The UK is officially a nation of kidults, with adult-friendly Lego sets big business, devoted to everything from films of our childhoods (although, despite my deepest yearnings, this 4,000-piece Home Alone house is too big for a permanent display spot in my own home right now) to Formula One cars.
One of their most popular grown-up lines is also one of their easiest to follow if you do want to dip a toe back in the brick world after years away. The Lego Botanicals range includes everything from pot plants and cactuses to stunning bouquets and bonsai trees, and has become somewhat of an obsession after I bought my first one to while away the time while sitting with my brick-obsessed youngsters as they built their own creations.
There is a stunning bouquet of red roses (£54.99) perfect for Valentine’s traditionalists but I’ve fallen in love with a cheery sunflower bouquet that I think is worth waiting for (it’s brand new out and due to ship later in the month). I find building Lego relaxing, calming and the perfect way to while away an afternoon – the fact that when it’s done this bouquet will last me long beyond February 14th and remind me of my favourite person is just the icing on the (Valentine’s) cake.
Jess’ pick: M&S set of two heart coupe glasses (£15)
I’m a sucker for anything heart-shaped, and I love pretty homeware that I can dig out for hosting Galentine’s or date nights. These fun heart-shaped glasses would make a pretty yet practical gift that instantly elevates nights in.
For those who prefer to sip on fizz, they also come in champagne flutes, which are equally gorgeous. My one downside is that, understandably, both sets of glasses need to be hand-washed, making them slightly impractical; however, in my opinion, the stylish design means they’re worth the extra faff.
The main thing I like about these glasses is that they won’t be banished to the back of the cupboard after Valentine’s Day has passed, as the stylish pastel design makes them ideal for all manner of spring occasions.
Bethan’s pick: Phlur Cherry Stem 50ml (£99)
Fragrance has long been a classic Valentine’s gift – but not without good reason. For many, they can represent memories and milestones, be it a particularly romantic evening, wedding or even a holiday together.
A well-selected scent can and often is the way to my heart, with Phlur being one of the brands I can’t get enough of. For a luxurious date night scent that’s still fun and feels on trend, Cherry Stem is my February 14 pick.
With notes of black cherry and orange brandy, it’s got a burst of fruitiness to it that makes it feel playful. It’s layered over red freesia, sugared jasmine and plum nectar, rounding off with a cosier and more sultry base of ebony woods, soft leather accord and warm caramel.
Bold and warm, this modern scent is guaranteed to get your compliments, but at £99 for 50ml, it is on the more premium side. Alternatively, Who is Elijah’s Cherry Fiesta is £51 at Sephora. Unusually, the first impressions are of mandarin, pear and anise, while white florals and cherry sit at the heart, followed by vanilla, benzoin and green patchouli.
Speaking on the Phlur scent, one Space NK shopper said: “Tried this and now I am addicted. To be honest, I love a cherry scent, and this ticks all the boxes. Strong but not overwhelming, long-lasting and actually does smell of cherries. This will be my scent for summer 2026. No irritation to my skin. Worth the price.”
Another added: “This is one of my favourite cherry scents and trust me, I’ve tried many different ones. you can really tell it is a natural cherry rather than an artificial sweet cherry. It is a complex scent with different scent profiles, including cherry and ebony wood. Longevity is good, but could be better in my opinion.”
Eve’s picks: Anthropologie L&Clay Stoneware Mug (£10)
For those shopping for their homeware-obsessed partner, you simply cannot go wrong with a cute, artisan-looking mug – I say as a homeware-obsessed gal. This Valentine’s themed mug from Anthropologie ticks all the right boxes – it’s slightly hand-made look is chic, while its red and blue colouring is bright, joyful and bears a pretty romantic phrase ‘Kiss Me Instead’.
100% hand-painted and glazed, it features two cute little hearts to showcase its thematic relevance to the occasion and has been hailed by shoppers as ‘very cute’. I agree – and would be seriously pleased with this mug and some flowers come Valentine’s Day morning.
For those who’d rather romantic colours than obvious designs, Oliver Bonas’ Chequerboard Pink Speckle Ceramic Mug is a lovely option that adds personality and vibrancy to any kitchen cupboard.
Amazon Kindle (£94.99)
If your partner has just reignited their love of books – or is already a bookworm – and they’ve not got a Kindle, this is most likely on their present wishlist in 2026. As someone who fits the former’s description, it’s certainly on mine. While it’s not the cheapest at £94.99, this version of the Kindle will certainly be a lot less expensive than the amount of paper- and hardback books they will buy, thanks to Amazon’s Kindle books being a lot more affordable.
I recently tried out my mum’s Kindle (in the green hue), having always been someone who just ‘loves the feel of holding a real book’, and finally understood why everyone is so enamoured by these nifty reading devices. They are not only unbelievably more portable than books – especially if the book being read is pretty bulky – but they’re perfect for travelling in hand luggage without needing to worry about extra space.
Plus, they’re so easy to read with no page turning needed, making it more streamlined – I managed to finish a 540+ page book in a matter of weeks (a record for me), thanks to the Kindle being so accessible at all times. Plus, I whizzed through it as I didn’t quite know how long was left, which always deters me from finishing a book too quickly – although this can be changed so you can see how much is left… I fear that may hinder my reading experience.
When I had to begrudgingly give it back to my mum, a Kindle immediately went on my wishlist and Valentine’s Day is the nearest gifting occasion…
For those who can afford a little more, the Kindle Paperwhite is a highly rated higher spec of Kindle, with a few more features than the 6-inch Amazon Kindle 2024. It’s got a 7-inch screen, is the brand’s ‘fastest ever’ model, and has a ‘new glare-free display’.
Pott’d’s Date Night Paint-a-Mug set
For those of us who enjoy fun, unique activity date nights rather than a dinner and candles, Pott’d has us sorted with its pottery painting home kits – ideal for people who love (or who’ve always wanted to try) the popular trend of Sip and Paint. With two blank mugs, a set of paint, brushes and a cloth – for the messier ones amongst us – the Date Night Paint-a-Mug set costs £39 down from £69, and is a great way to spend time together. It’s certainly on my list for a Valentine’s Day activity, especially with restaurants booked up, especially after our shopping editor Harriet tried it out and loved it.
Lucy’s pick: Chelsea Peers Strawberry Print Pyjama Set (£58)
There’s nothing quite like a fresh pair of pyjamas, which is why they make such a lovely gift. For couples that are staying in this Valentine’s Day, or for a Galentine’s get-together with friends, these strawberry print PJs from Chelsea Peers are so sweet to relax in while still looking and feeling good.
Made from 95% organic cotton, they’re as comfortable as they are cute, boasting tonal red piping, a sugary sweet pink background and hand-drawn fruit illustrations. Perfect worn while tucking into some chocolate strawberries, they give a nod to the celebration of love, but can be worn all year round as they are not overly themed.
Customers who have already tried the £58 pyjama set describe them as ‘lovely and comfy’, available in sizes 6 to 18. However, those who prefer to sleep in shorts may find them a little too warm come the summer months.
Elsewhere, these Dream Satin Heart Print Revere Shortie Set Pyjamas from Marks and Spencer retail for £30 and boast a beautiful red and white heart design. They’re made from a material that should keep wearers cool, dry and free from static.
Callum’s pick: Harry Styles Tickets (approx £100)
There’s only one thing music fans really want for Valentine’s Day: Harry Styles tickets. The former One Direction star launched tickets for his upcoming Together Together tour late last month, which boasted 12 shows at London’s Wembley Stadium – and fans went wild for them. And, yeah, they’re still kind of impossible to get your hands on – unless you know where to look.
Seat Unique is still offering a collection of officially licensed VIP and hospitality tickets right now. Unbelievably, some of these VIP entries are actually cheaper than Harry’s regular standing tickets.
Otherwise, you can thrill your loved one with standard tickets – all of which are readily available on the resale website viagogo. Thankfully, the prices are not yet too high (floating around £100 at the time of writing), so bargains can still be nabbed.
And, what better gift is there for Valentine’s Day than locking your beloved into an obligation six months in advance?

Lauren’s pick – Bluebella lingerie (from £28)
There’s a long-running debate that Valentine’s Day lingerie is really a gift for the person buying it, not the one wearing it. But I believe a great lingerie set has a way of flipping a confidence switch, making you stand a little taller and feel more put-together instantly, even if no one else ever sees it.
For me, Bluebella would be top of my Valentine’s wish list. The brand’s latest collection nails that sweet spot between elegant and flirtatious, with pieces that feel luxe, sexy and fun without trying too hard.
I’ve already got this Arella Open Harness Bra (£55) at home for February 14th, but I’d also love an everyday set. This Soraya Embroidered Sheer Bra and matching briefs (£55 and £28, respectively) are sultry and sexy, yet practical enough to wear under date night outfits (or to the pub).
It’s the kind of lingerie that makes Valentine’s Day feel special, but still earns its place in my bedside drawer long after the roses have wilted – which, to me, is exactly what the perfect gift should do.
