Brits have been warned to think twice about wearing a particular type of hat before getting behind the wheel.
As the sun starts to creep out for longer each day, drivers might opt for using a hair accessory for additional shade.
However, anyone who wears a bucket hat whilst driving could be slapped with a hefty fine. According to traffic laws, the accessory could put motorists at risk due to it obscuring their view.
Despite the hat being a go-to clothing item, experts have urged people to avoid it in case it impacts their vision.

Motorists will initially be hit with a £100 penalty, but if the case is taken to court, the cost could increase to £1,000. In the worst cases, drivers will receive three points on their licence.
The cost could even escalate to a whopping £5,000. Rule 97 of the Highway Code states that drivers should wear: “Footwear and clothing which does not prevent you using the controls in the correct manner.”
Another rule to be aware of ahead of summer, is forgetting to switch on the air conditioning during the hot weather.
Rule 237 of the Highway Code states that vehicles need to be well-ventilated to prevent drowsiness. Failure to act on this rule could result in a fine of up to £5,000, reports Watford Observer.
Specialists at Swansway Motor Group said: “Breaking Rule 237 could result in an on-the-spot fine if you are deemed to be driving carelessly or involved in an accident due to poor ventilation. An overheated car can cause drowsiness, putting the driver in an unsafe driving state.
“Drivers must have complete control over their vehicles at all times and in hot weather, keeping the vehicles well-ventilated can help to combat any mistakes being made behind the wheel.
