A mum has shared her distressing experience with weight-loss injections that she said led to severe health complications and an anorexia diagnosis.
Hayleigh Davis, 37, initially weighed 14st 2lbs when she turned to slimming jabs in November 2024 after facing cruel online comments about her weight. In just one month, she lost over a stone but became obsessed with the injections, increasing her dosage to two or three times weekly despite strong medical guidance advising against this.
“I was overweight and the hate comments I received on my weight were wearing me down,” said Hayleigh, from Tidworth, Wiltshire. “People would comment on my social media saying I looked chubby and it really got to me.”
The 5ft mum shed eight stone in total but said she developed severe health complications including extreme hair loss, gallbladder flare-ups, and recurrent urinary tract infections affecting her kidneys. She collapsed and fainted regularly before seeking help.
Hayleigh received an anorexia diagnosis in November 2025 and says her relationship with food is now dominated by fear. “When I was diagnosed, I was told to stop the jabs immediately,” she said.
She is now under the care of an eating disorder clinic, slowly rebuilding her relationship with food and challenging her perception of herself.
Hayleigh is speaking out to warn others about the risks of misusing weight-loss injections, urging people to consult their GP and stop once they reach their goal weight.
