‘This joint was excellent. Flavoursome, juicy and lovely both hot and cold’
Mother’s Day is fast approaching, which means many of us are looking for the best way to spoil the mother figure in our lives. And if her love language is a proper Sunday lunch with all the trimmings, Waitrose is helping shoppers plan the big day with sizeable discounts across its food range.
The British supermarket is currently offering a third off its British beef, alongside up to 25% off classic sides, making it far more affordable to serve up a celebratory roast without the usual price tag. For instance, a large British beef topside joint is £14.66, down from £22, while a roasting joint is £17.33, down from £26.
Meanwhile, sides including roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese start from as little as £2.25, meaning families can plate up a generous spread for less. There are savings on drinks, too; the much-loved La Vieille Ferme Rosé – often dubbed the ‘viral chicken wine’ – is down to £7.95 from £8.95.
Beyond the food aisle, Waitrose also offers a selection of thoughtful gifts, with some big beauty names included in the savings. That includes Cowshed, known for its spa-inspired formulas and relaxing fragrances, and Neal’s Yard Remedies, famous for its natural, aromatherapy-led skincare and those distinctive apothecary-style blue bottles.
We’ve spotted a Cowshed travel collection reduced to £18.75 from £25, featuring five travel-sized versions of the brand’s bestselling products – ideal for popping in a weekend bag or taking on holiday. Elsewhere, Korres Sea Salt shower gel and body cream have been cut to £17.25 from £23, saving shoppers 25%.

Back to Waitrose, the supermarket has had some great feedback on its food range. A British beef shopper, for instance, shared: “This joint was excellent. Flavoursome, juicy and lovely both hot and cold.”
And a beef topside joint customer said: “Excellent beef, perfect for our roast Sunday lunch. The meat was extremely tender and lovely cold the next few days for sandwiches.” And someone else piped up: “It was delicious, succulent with a melt-in-your-mouth texture.”
However, one shopper said it was a ‘little tough’ for them. But on a brighter note, someone who enjoyed the roasting joint said: “I’ve been looking out for this since it was last on offer. It’s succulent and full of flavour.”
And another remarked: “A lovely joint full of flavour. No waste.”
