Vincent Kompany has been Bayern Munich’s manager for two seasons, but the Manchester City legend still owns a mansion in Cheshire which has been listed on the market
Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany has put his stunning Cheshire mansion on the market for an eye-watering £3.45million. Kompany, 40, still owns the stunning pad, despite becoming the boss of German giants Bayern Munich two years ago.
The Belgian lived in Cheshire during his 11 trophy-laden years playing for City before going on to manage Burnley following a spell with Anderlecht. The six-bedroom property is located in a desirable area of Cheshire, just a short drive away from Manchester Airport.
As reported by the Sun, Kompany is now flogging his ‘arts and crafts’ style mansion which is fit with six bathrooms, bespoke stone fireplaces, a swimming pool, sauna, games room, and a football pitch which doubles as a basketball court.
Last year, it was claimed that Kompany had slashed the asking price by £300,000 down to £3.65m in an effort to sell up. And now the Bayern manager is said to have reduced it again.

Kompany is married to Carla Higgs, a lifelong City fan. She met Kompany when he was playing for German club Hamburg, and they now have three children – daughter Sienna (born in 2010) and two sons, Kai (2013) and Caleb (2015).
The couple got married at Castle Ashby in Northamptonshire in 2011, the year before Kompany helped City win their first Premier League title. Lifting trophies is now a regular occurrence for the ex-centre-back, who guided Bayern to the Bundesliga title on Sunday.

Led by England captain Harry Kane, the Bavarians have now been crowned champions in both seasons in which Kompany has been at the helm – and this time they’re on for a treble. Bayern travel to Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday for a German cup semi-final before facing Paris Saint-Germain next week in the last four of the Champions League.
After the season is finished, Kompany will take a well-earned rest after minimal downtime last summer due to the Club World Cup. That’s despite him being offered punditry roles by a number of English broadcasters for this summer’s international World Cup in North America.
“Absolutely no chance,” Kompany confirmed at a press conference on Tuesday when asked about the offers. “Why would I do that in vacation time? Then I wouldn’t have any family in Munich next season. No chance.”
The 40-year-old is also still focussed on this season. After Sunday’s 4-2 win against Stuttgart sealed the title, Kompany said: “It’s amazing. For me, every title is like the first, otherwise there’s no point doing this job.
“These moments take so much work, and not just this season but over several years. You need to enjoy it when you get there. I’ve got emotions. That’s not a problem. Anyone who sees me on the pitch knows that.
“But there’s also calmness. In this moment it’s just about enjoying everything. Tomorrow, we then keep going like we always do. The numbers are great, but it’s not over yet. We keep going. It’s also a question of mentality.
“We always give our all, whether in pre-season or for a competitive fixture. We’re using our squad, want to enjoy football and have done that this year. And I don’t want to stop yet. We’ve got crucial weeks to come. We’re excited but also know how tough it’ll be. Our belief is there, and that’s very valuable in football.”
