Terry’s Chocolate Orange has teamed up with another famous brand of sweet treat to launch a new biscuit that is available on the shelves Tesco supermarkets right now – for just £1
If you’re a fan of Terry’s Chocolate Orange you may be intrigued by the brand’s latest collaboration, which sees their iconic treat team up with a well known biscuit. Terry’s launched it’s prize product in the 1930s and it has grown in popularity ever since, with a variety of spin-offs hitting the shelves over the years including the Chocolate Orange bar and Chocolate Orange minis.
Elsewhere on the confectionery aisle of every leading supermarket is the Maryland Cookies – and that’s who Terry’s has joined forces with for it’s latest taste sensation. The new product was spotted by Instagram shopping account, New Foods UK who excitedly shared a snap of it online.
“New Terry’s Chocolate Orange Maryland S’wich Cookies spotted at Tesco,” they penned in a post to their 370,000 followers.
According to Tesco, each £150g packet will set customers back £1.70, though Clubcard holders can take advantage of an introductory offer – which sees them priced at just £1.
The new addition follows Maryland’s in-house S’wich – which comes in Choc Creme flavour.
“The sandwich biscuit space has long been without a cookie variant – until now. Maryland S’wich is an exciting new product that combines the trusted appeal of Maryland with the indulgent format of a sandwich cookie,” said David Hebson, Trade Marketing Director at FBC UK.
“It’s a meaningful addition to our range and highlights our focus on thoughtful innovation that meets changing consumer expectations.”
Writing in response to New Foods UK, meanwhile, one Instagram user declared: “They don’t want us to stay fit for summer!”
A second person wrote in disbelief: “Noooo stoppp is this real?”
A third exclaimed: “We need to try these!”
While a fourth individual simply commented on the post: “Need.”
Terry’s began making its Chocolate Orange at its factory in York in 1932. In 2005 production moved to a number of facilities in Europe, before being consolidated into a single factory in Strasbourg, France, in 2018.
Before launching the chocolate orange the company had previously sold a chocolate apple.
In 1979 it launched a chocolate lemon, but this was withdrawn from sale after just three years.
