A supermarket has been named the UK’s cheapest by Which?
Deciding where to complete your weekly grocery shop could make a more significant difference than many customers appreciate. Latest data reveals that Britain’s most affordable supermarket works out at roughly £28 less per shop than Tesco for a similar trolley of groceries.
Over time, that pricing difference can amount to considerable yearly savings for families seeking to reduce daily expenses. The new research from Which? shows Aldi emerged as Britain’s most affordable supermarket during February for a trolley of 89 common grocery products.
This works out at £23.93 cheaper than Morrisons. Meanwhile, purchasing the identical trolley at Sainsbury’s costs £27.62 more, whilst customers would have spent an additional £55.46 at Waitrose.
Aldi has also recently secured Which?’s Cheapest Supermarket of the Year for 2025 and led the consumer organisation’s rankings once more in January, cementing its standing for reliably low pricing.
Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, Julie Ashfield, said: “These findings show that shoppers don’t need to travel abroad to make real savings on their weekly shop.
“With Aldi topping the Which? charts once again, UK households can stretch their budgets further every week – and even save enough over time to treat themselves to a holiday.”
