Unseasonably hot temperatures are expected in parts of the UK on April 9, with London forecast to be the warmest area but other parts also anticipated to bask in the sunshine
Striking weather maps show the exact date a 22C mini heatwave is expected in the UK.
The unseasonably warm temperatures are anticipated on April 9, with the Southeast of England and the East of England to be the hottest. It is a stark contrast to the unpleasant end to this week, during which the mercury plunged to 2.5C near Dover, Kent and 2.6C in Balmoral, Aberdeenshire.
But, according to fresh weather maps by WXCHARTS, which utilises MetDesk data, the nation could experience the warm spell on April 9. It is then likely to remain pleasant, albeit not as warm, for several days, especially in and around Greater London.
The balmy 22C is expected in the capital on April 9, though the East of England, including Norfolk, will see 21C sunshine at the same time. Even in the Midlands, it will be unseasonably warm, forecasters say.

However, the North East of England won’t be fortunate enough to enjoy the much milder weather, the weather maps indicate, with temperatures likely to struggle reaching double figures. In a fresh weather forecast for the period, the Met Office said temperatures are likely to be “near to or slightly above normal.”
The Met Office forecast for the period from April 2 until 11 states: “A broad northwest to southeast split is expected across the UK during this period. The northwest is likely to be more unsettled with low pressure systems moving in at times, bringing showers or longer spells of rain. Strong winds are also possible, particularly along coasts.
“In the southeast, high pressure will have greater influence, with more settled, drier weather as a result. Temperatures overall are likely to be near to or slightly above normal.”, reports the Express. The publication lists the areas expected to be the warmest on April 9;

Even after April 9, it is still expected to remain warm for many, and presents an ideal time for gardeners to get outside. The Met Office’s long-range forecast, which takes into account a timeframe until Sunday April 26, reads: “High pressure may be dominant early in this period, which would bring plenty of dry and settled weather across the UK, especially in the south.
“Any low pressure systems bringing wetter, windier weather are most likely to affect the north. Into late April, low pressure patterns may become more prevalent, with more unsettled, changeable conditions developing more widely. Temperatures are likely to be close to or slightly above normal.”
