One part of the UK could see up to 10cm of snow and temperatures plunging to -4C later this month, with 16 areas set to be affected by the cold snap, according to weather maps
A fierce snow blizzard is set to batter the UK later this month, according to the latest weather maps.
Data from WXCharts.com indicates a bitter cold blast sweeping across the north of the UK on Sunday, 26 April. Scotland looks set to bear the brunt, with up to 10cm of snow expected, though other parts of the UK could also feel the impact. The Northeast of England may also be lashed by blizzards, with the same maps indicating at least 2cm of snowfall.
WXCharts.com maps further reveal that temperatures across the north of the UK could nosedive below 0°C on April 25 and 26.

The cold snap will predominantly strike Scotland and the north-west of England. In Scotland, temperatures could plunge to -4C in and around Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Dundee, while further south in England, cities including Newcastle, Blackpool, and Manchester could experience -3C cold snaps.
Other parts of England will also be caught up in the unsettled conditions, though temperatures are likely to hover just a few degrees below freezing, particularly across the Midlands and the North East, reports the Express.
The Met Office weather forecast covering the period from April 18 to April 27 states: “A few showers around at the start of the period, mainly affecting the northwest where it will also be windy for a time.
“For many though the weekend should be fine and dry with spells of warm sunshine, but still some chilly nights. Into the following week fronts associated with another Atlantic low will try to push into the UK, but may struggle to make inroads against an area of high pressure to the northeast.
“So the greater chance of some rain is for western areas, while northern and eastern areas may well see plenty of dry weather. Temperatures likely remaining above average.”
