Dunelm’s highly-rated Beatrice II chair is now on sale with £120 knocked off, making it a budget-friendly alternative to Next’s £875 Sadie armchair

Many homeowners know all too well the financial strain that comes with decorating to truly make a house feel like home. While we can usually get away with finding bargain options for lamps, artwork and bedding, one item that often leaves our bank balance seriously depleted is sofas and chairs.

But Dunelm offers a solution with its affordable furniture range that looks seriously upmarket. And we’ve spotted a deal on its popular Beatrice Snuggle Chair that slashes £120 off its usual £399 price tag.

The Beatrice II Woven Stripe Snuggle Chair is available in four different striped colourways, from black and white to olive green, pink and blue – though only the black and blue versions are currently on sale. Now priced at £279.30, the black and white design makes a real statement with its monochrome colourway that is timeless and will complement any colour scheme.

A fresh take on the brand’s much-loved Beatrice chair, this design features more curved arms, wooden legs and a foam and fibre filling that is ‘very comfy’. While it’s billed as a ‘snuggle chair’, it can accommodate two people thanks to its generous size and has shoppers smitten with its ‘bold’ colourway that makes it a real centrepiece in any room.

Ideal for curling up with a book, the seat appears to be relatively deep, while its back cushion looks plush enough to sink into. The chair is finished off with piping in the dominant colour (such as black), which adds to its sophistication, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The Beatrice chair in pink offers a brilliant budget-friendly option for anyone who’s been smitten with Next’s Sadie Deep Relaxed Sit armchair, which retails at £875.

Featuring similar rounded arms, the chair boasts – as its name indicates – a generously deep seating area measuring 105cm (overall dimensions: W106 x H93 x D105cm) and is available in a stunning Bold Chenille Stripe design in Dark Pink.

What makes the Next design worth its premium price tag is its construction using the brand’s “Relaxed Sit” cushions, which have been ‘specially developed with high-density foam pieces in channels and wrapped in fibre’. Beyond comfort, they create a ‘wonderfully plump, relaxed look’.

For those less fussed about stripes but who adore the generous depth of such seating, Dusk’s Hampshire Armchair in Dusky Pink presents a lovely alternative at £319 and features a matte velvet finish.

Having said that, Dunelm’s Beatrice II chair boasts an impressive 4.8 star rating out of five alongside some rave reviews from interior enthusiasts who say the chair has brilliantly pulled together their décor. One customer gushed: “Great chair, quick delivery. Very comfy and a good size!”.

Another person commented: “A beautiful chair, I got it to go with my new Beatrice II green velvet sofa, and they really compliment each other.” A further reviewer chimed in: “The comfiest love seat, great quality.”

Their only gripe was with the shade of the fabric, warning: “I’d definitely get the sample first as the colour is a lot bolder than it shows in the photos.”

Though it appears that wasn’t enough to put them off holding onto the chair. Shop the Beatrice II Woven Stripe Snuggle Chair from Dunelm here.
