Brits to be soaked by more rain over Bank Holiday
Millions of Brits will face an unwelcome onslaught of rain and thundery showers this week in the run up to the Early May Bank Holiday weekend. While some Brits will embrace warmer weather today, other parts of the country will face heavy downpours.
The Met Office said the mixed outlook today will be typical for the rest of the week ahead. “This low [pressure] coming up from France is bringing with it some pretty warm air, some heavy downpours through Wednesday night – a couple of Met Office warnings in place – from the storm,” meteorologist Alex Deakin said.
“Intense rain, lots of flashes of lightning and spray and surface water on the roads across the south on Thursday morning.” While the North West of England, the Midlands and the South East will see highs of 21 and 20C, other parts of the UK will hover around the mid teens, particularly in northern and eastern Scotland.
