The UK travel company, opened for over 40 years, has plunged into liquidation with all packages cancelled as customers are warned they may be able to get money back
A UK travel agency has plunged into liquidation with all holiday packages cancelled.
Strachan Travel Ltd, based in Lancashire, was incorporated in 1983.
The company entered voluntary liquidation this month, over 40 years after it started provided packages to holidaymakers.
Resolutions for winding up were documented on June 11 and liquidators were appointed on June 16, according to The Gazette.
It states that notice is hereby given that the following resolutions were passed on June 11, 2026, as a special resolution and an ordinary resolution respectively: “That the Company be wound up voluntarily and that Richard Ian Williamson (IP No. 8013) and Francesca Vivace (IP No. 32370) both of Campbell, Crossley & Davis, Ground Floor, Seneca House, Links Point, Amy Johnson Way, Blackpool, Lancashire, FY4 2FF be appointed as Joint Liquidators for the purposes of such voluntary winding up.”
When the small company opened it was originally named Quintglobe Ltd, according to Companies House.
In the firm’s last publicly available financial statements they are listed to have four employees.
Customers may be able to make claims if their holidays have been cancelled.
The businesses website appears to be offline.
A spokesperson for the FCA said: “If something has gone wrong, you can complain to this AR or to this AR’s principal firm.
“You may also be able to then complain against the principal to the Financial Ombudsman Serviceopens in a new window (FOS), or claim from the Financial Services Compensation Schemeopens in a new window (FSCS) if the principal firm has gone out of business owing you money.”
They added: “This firm is no longer registered with the FCA as an Appointed Representative of an authorised firm, and can no longer carry on regulated activities.”
