Deep Valley at Caddsdown Industrial Park will close its doors after more than three decades and it looks to focus on its growing trade business – it has launched a huge sale
A UK furniture store will host a massive sale this weekend as it prepares to close shop for good after more than 30 years.
The Deep Valley at Caddsdown Industrial Park in Bideford will stop trading on August 30. It will launch a 50% off sale on in store products, including bedroom, dining, living and accessories and already discounted outlet items starting from Saturday, June 13.
It looks to focus on its growing trade business.
General manager Steve Parker said in a statement: “This has not been an easy decision. Over the years, we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know so many customers through the Bideford store, helping them choose furniture and pieces for their homes.”
“Like many independent retailers, changes in customer spending, shopping habits and the wider economic climate have made operating the store increasingly challenging.”
“At the same time, demand from our trade customers continues to grow and we have made the decision to concentrate our time and resources on supporting that part of the business from this point forward.”
The company, which is used as the retail showroom for Devonshire Living, said the store closure will result in some job losses but did not confirm the exact number.
It adds to the list of furniture companies planning to close shop.
Last week, an award-winning UK furniture brand has plunged into liquidation owing more than £1.4 million in debt.
Pure White Lines Ltd., established in 2012, entered creditors’ voluntary liquidation on June 1.
Liquidation is the legal procedure by which a company is formally dissolved. This typically entails selling off the firm’s assets to generate funds, which are subsequently used to repay outstanding debts owed to creditors and shareholders.
