Heavyweight boxing icon Tyson Fury has made a fortune thanks to his success in the ring but still insists on limiting his spending
Boxing legend Tyson Fury might have earned millions from his fight with Arslanbek Makhmudov but he will not be spending lavishly any time soon. The 37-year-old returned to the ring for the first time since 2024 earlier this month.
Netflix bought the streaming rights to the bout and the former world champion pocketed the better part of £19million. However, known to be frugal with his winnings, Fury was spotted taking a budget flight with his wife and kids after beating Makhmudov by unanimous decision in London.
The Fury family were spotted catching a LoganAir flight from London City Airport to their Isle of Man home. Tickets for the trip can be as cheap as £40, and that £40 may be all he’s prepared to part with from the money earned for the Makhmudov bout, having previously revealed that he prefers to save.

Speaking in 2023, Fury admitted to being cautious with his finances, opting to shop in budget supermarkets and insisting he doesn’t like to live like a wealthy person.
He said: “When I’m in Aldi and my kids are shouting, ‘He’s shopping in Aldi,’ and then the people say, ‘You’re shopping in Aldi or Lidl,’ I’m like, ‘Well, it’s food, isn’t it?’

“Everywhere I go people say they don’t expect to see me there and it’s not like there’s a special celebrity place to go shopping. We don’t live like rich people.
“I’m not gonna pay £3.50 for a pack of KitKats that’s usually on offer, no way! No matter how much money I’ve got I just won’t do it because it’s not in me to do so.”
Back in 2019, he told the BBC that money doesn’t bring him happiness – strong words indeed for a man thought to be worth around £120m.
“I might sound like a hypocrite here but I really don’t care – there’s only a certain amount you can spend in life. I have found true happiness within myself,” he said. “I have really found out that happiness doesn’t come from achievements or assets. It comes from within, with contentment of who you are.
“I can’t be happier. If I had another 10 zeros on my bank balance it couldn’t make me happier. I can only wear these shoes and sleep in one bed. You can only drive one car – if it’s a Rolls Royce or piece of rubbish, they all do the same thing.”
In another effort to keep his finances in order, the Manchester-born boxer is understood to have relocated to the Isle of Man in late 2025. His new home in the tax haven is said to have cost him around £8m and is situated close to the island’s capital, Douglas.
Fury and his family had been living in Morecambe, Lancashire, prior to the move. The Gypsy King decided to relocate after a worrying incident with an intruder and considered other options before settling on their new home.
The heavyweight said: “I looked at moving abroad, but it turned out that the Isle of Man is the perfect place for me. It’s English-speaking, has English pound notes, and I can get an English newspaper from the local petrol station with my coffee and speak my own lingo.”
