Two men have been charged with damaging the iconic Sycamore Gap tree.
Daniel Graham, 38, and Adam Carruthers, 31, have been charged with causing criminal damage to the famous Sycamore Gap tree and Hadrian’s Wall last September in Northumberland, the Crown Prosecution Service said.
There was a national outcry when the famous tree, which featured in the 1991 movie Robin Hood was cut down overnight between September 27 and 28 in a “deliberate act of vandalism.” Northumbria Police arrested a number of men after the reported 300-year-old tree was felled.
