Tributes have been pouring in for a ‘wonderful’ and ‘stunning’ mum who tragically lost her life on the railway line in Greater Manchester.

Emergency services rushed to Patricroft railway station, in Eccles, around 7.50am on Saturday, October 11, following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Officers were seen outside the railway station throughout the morning, causing disruptions to several services between Manchester and Liverpool.

British Transport Police later confirmed that they attended the scene along with paramedics, but sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has since been identified as mum Adele Victoria Silcock. There were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Adele’s death.

Bolton Coroner’s Office has confirmed it has received a referral and a file is now being prepared for the coroner. The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious. Emergency crews remained at the station throughout the morning before services resumed at around 12.30pm, reports the Manchester Evening News.

On a GoFundMe page, a heartfelt tribute penned by Adele’s family read: “It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Adele Victoria Silcock, who left us unexpectedly on October 11, 2025.

“Adele was a loving mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, auntie, niece, cousin and friend to so many and her absence leaves an unimaginable void in our lives.

“Her passing came suddenly, and our family is heartbroken as we try to navigate this loss. We are creating this GoFundMe to help cover funeral expenses and provide some financial support as we make arrangements and take care of her three young children, Eviee, Jenson and Romie.

“Any amount, no matter how small, will help lighten the burden during this painful time. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page or keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers.”

Heartfelt tributes poured in across social media following her death, with Sarah Thomson writing online: “Absolutely devastated to hear you’ve gone. I’m going to miss seeing your silly posts in my news feeds. I hope you find peace and to know your babies are going to be well looked after. RIP you beautiful amazing woman.”

Tasha Schofield added: “I still can’t believe you’re gone Adele Victoria. The most beautiful, bubbliest, kind hearted girl I have ever met. You are going to be missed by so many! Thinking of your 3 beautiful babies and family at this horrible time.”

Nicola Simpson wrote: “Such sad news I can’t believe your gone Adele Victoria. We had some laughs and your beautiful children I hope you’re at peace my friend will miss you thinking of you’re children and family at this sad time. RIP Adele.”

After the incident, a representative for the British Transport Police stated: “Officers were called to Patricroft railway station at around 7.50am on Saturday (11 October) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
