Shoppers can save a lot when compared to other brands
People looking to add a “modern and stylish” touch to their bedrooms that also serves a practical purpose could find this budget find from B&M useful. It comes with a £15 price tag, meaning a set for either side of a bed would cost shoppers only £30.
The Isabella Two Drawer Bedside Table comes in a sage green colour with an oak-effect surface. It was recently added to the Special Buy section of the website and reduced to £15 each.
The discount store wrote online: “Transform your bedroom with this modern and stylish Isabella Two Drawer Bedside Table. With a soft sage and oak finish, this bedside table creates a soothing and modern country feel. Features two spacious drawers.”
The range includes similar furniture, such as the One-Drawer version for £12. Looking online, there are some very similar options on offer but for much higher price tags, like Amazon’s similar-looking GRO Furniture Bedside Cabinet for £95.
Describing the unit online, Amazon wrote: “Expertly crafted by skilled artisans using precision tools, this solid wood bedside table is meticulously assembled for enduring strength and timeless elegance. Featuring sturdy Tongue and Groove joints for the carcass and hand-cut Dovetail joints for all drawers, every detail ensures superior durability and refined sophistication.
“These bedside cabinets keep your home tidy. Perfect for bedroom bedside cabinets, living room side tables and more, all while adding a stylish touch.”
The B&M version is made from particle board, with wooden knob handles, whereas the Amazon version comes “fully assembled” and is built from “solid wood”. The £15 version from B&M is 39cm wide and 55cm tall. Amazon’s is slightly slimmer at 38cm wide but has the same height.
With B&M, shoppers will need to find the items in their nearest stores and arrange their own transport home as the brand does not offer home delivery or online ordering. With Amazon, shoppers could get the more expensive unit delivered at no extra cost.
The budget retailer is popular with homeowners looking to add something new to rooms without breaking the bank. For example, the homeware section of B&M now includes a set of two side tables for £30 – but they look almost identical to an Argos version that costs £90 on its own.
Describing the set online, B&M bosses wrote: “Add versatility and modern style to your living room with this Home Collection Set of Two Tables. Featuring a modern panelled style with a clean and natural finish, this pair of tables effortlessly elevates any living space and complements most interiors.”
The discount store claimed that the set of tables would be perfectly suited to being “side tables or lamp tables”. The smaller of the pair stands 31cm tall with a surface area of 34cm, and the second table is slightly taller at 38cm with a surface area of 40cm.
