There is “major rail disruption” in the Greater Manchester area, the Midlands and the North West of England due to an electrical failure at a communications centre, National Rail has said.
Trains have been cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or rescheduled, and the disruption is expected to last until the end of the day, it added.
Services on Avanti West Coast, CrossCountry, East Midlands Railway, London Northwestern Railway, Northern, TransPennine Express, Transport for Wales are affected.
