Time is ticking on this free Samsung laptop deal as it runs out next week
There are only days left to snap up a standout tech deal, as one retailer dishes out Chromebook laptops for free. A rare chance for tech fans to upgrade their device without forking out hundreds of pounds but only for those who beat the looming date.
It’s available to anyone upgrading their phone, as retailer Mobiles.co.uk hands out the £399 freebie to Samsung shoppers, up until May, 6. Available on the brand’s flagship Galaxy S range, which is available for S26 and S26 Ultra shoppers looking to split the price.
Consumers will get the 14-inch Chromebook Go laptop for free with their mobile order, which starts from £27.99 a month for the standard S26 device. Mobiles.co.uk scans providers for pay-as-you-go contracts, and includes iD Mobile, which runs off Three’s network.
The S26 iD Mobile plan is on a 24-month contract, which does have a £19 upfront cost, bringing the total ownership price to £712.36. Considering the S26 costs £879 for the 256GB model at Samsung and Amazon, Mobiles.co.uk price is much lower, not forgetting the Chromebook laptop is bundled in for free.
The S26 Ultra is also an option, as this also comes with the £0 Chromebook but with an extra perk of free Galaxy Buds3 FE. This is priced at £44.99 a month, on a 24-month contract, and has a £29 upfront cost.

Mobile.co.uk shoppers purchasing a Galaxy S26 and S26 Ultra can claim a free 14″ Chromebook Go worth £399.
Galaxy S26 Ultra shoppers can also get the 512GB storage model for the same price as the 256GB model, something Samsung hasn’t offered since the pre-orders straight after launch. One important thing to shoppers, however, is the price rise.
Both the S26 and S26 Ultra iD Mobile contracts are subject to price hikes, in line with inflation. This will see the S26 contract up to £29.79 a month from April 2027, and the S26 Ultra up to £46.79 a month in April 2027 too.
It’s not the only freebie deal on our shopping team’s radar this month. After the whirlwind of Sky handing out free Galaxy Watch 8 to shoppers, there’s another Samsung handout worth looking at.
Again at Sky, it’s offering a huge £538 in free tech accessories as the Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Buds4 Pro are added to S26 shoppers’ orders. This is available on all of the newest S devices too, so it includes the base Galaxy S26 model, the middle S26+ and the ultimate Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Apple’s iPhone 17 lineup came out at a similar time to the Samsung S26 range, and for iOS fans, Sky’s contract helps split the price. The handset is now £25 a month with an upfront cost of £12.
For anyone wondering which Samsung Galaxy S series to pick, the Ultra is proving to be the most popular thanks to its standout features. Ideal for users who need more than the base model offering, there’s a boosted battery, screen size, and screen features that no other model has.
I’ve tried it for myself, and as I highlighted in the review, these are some of the standout features. I explained: “Across the entire new range, the S26 Ultra’s hardware enhancements mean the device will run smoother in the background, making everyday tasks feel easier for the average user but that comes at a much higher cost.
“Out of the entire new AI photography and videography rollout, my top picks are the Horizontal Lock, AI photo Assist and the Creative Studio, as I feel they make a substantial difference to content.”
“Another brand new feature is the Enhanced Now Nudge. It’s an AI feature that’ll scan the device for you and recommend photos to send to friends – say you’re chatting away about a holiday or event in a message, it’ll suggest a photo from your camera roll to send with it.
“I can see how this will be a useful feature to some, however, the always-on necessity will cause it to guzzle up battery life, which is worth considering.
