This easy-to-use baby formula prep machine is highly rated by shoppers and celebrities alike, and currently has 20% in a New Year sale – making now a great time to snap one up
If you have a new baby, feeding can be one of the biggest challenges, and one that takes up most of your time. If you’re planning to formula feed or combi-feed, however, we’e found a nifty device recommended by celebs that makes bottle feeding so much quicker and easier – and it’s currently reduced in a January sale.
Speaking on Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe’s popular podcast Parenting Hell last year, actor and comedian Aisling Bea talked about formula feeding her baby, who was born in late 2024, singing the praises of the Tommee Tippee PerfectPrep machine, humorously describing it as working like “a Nespresso machine” for making up baby formula. Usually £139.99, it’s currently now down to £109.99 – a saving of 20%.

The PerfectPrep is available in two colours – chalk and slate – and from stockists such as Boots and Mamas & Papas as well as Tommee Tippee’s own website. We think both colours look incredibly chic, and not unlike a small coffee pod machine.
The PerfectPrep works by adding a shot of boiling water to the bottle and scoop of formula, followed by filtered water, making up a bottle of milk at the perfect measurement and temperature for your little one. It does all this in just 90 seconds (up to 10 times faster than a kettle), making it especially ideal for night feeds when you want to get your baby fed as quickly as possible.
Other features include an accompanying app to use with it, minimal noise and lights for less disruption at night, and a two-year warrantee when buying directly from the Tommee Tippee website (it’s currently only available in chalk online here, though).
Customers have been praising it too. “The Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Formula machine has been a game-changer for our nightly feeds,” one wrote on the brand’s website. “It takes all the guesswork out of making baby bottles — with just the push of a button you get the perfect temperature and amount every time. No more waiting for water to cool or heating and mixing in the middle of the night. It’s quick, easy to use, and gives consistent results, which is such a relief when you’re tired. The design is compact and looks great on the counter, and cleanup is simple too. If you want faster bottle prep with less stress, this is one of the best baby products you can buy. Worth every penny!”
“I’ve been using the Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine for a while now and it’s been a real lifesaver, especially during night feeds,” another agreed. “Overall, it makes feeding much less stressful and saves so much time.”
One Boots customer, however, remarked that they preferred the old model: “I like the machine and how quickly it makes the bottles. It’s dead easy if you are in a rush and especially if you are trying to multitask! However it does come up that it needs the cleaning cycle completing very quickly, unsure if I have a faulty one but it comes up probably weekly which I think is a bit excessive, I have used the old prep machine and I didn’t need to run a clean cycle that often.”
If you’re looking for a slightly cheaper formula prep machine – perhaps if your budget is smaller or you’re unsure how much you’ll be using formula – we’ve also found the Nuby Rapid Hot Machine for £90 on Argos, while Amazon sells the Bellababy Baby Bottle Maker for £46.99, which has hundreds of five-start reviews.
