The London Fire Brigade said in a statement: “Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters responded to a fire on Knollmead, Tolworth.
“The fire originated in a mid-terraced house of two floors. Part of the buildings roof was alight at the incident’s height. One of the Brigade’s 32m ladders was deployed to the scene as part of the response.
“The Brigade received the first of five calls reporting the fire at 1547, and firefighters had the incident under control by 1711. Crews from Surbiton, Sutton, New Malden and surrounding fire stations have been mobilised to the scene.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade’s Fire Investigation Team.”
