‘Absolutely the best electrolyte I have tasted so far’, said one happy shopper
Electrolytes are essential for basic life functions, including maintaining fluid balance and helping muscles and nerves to work properly. Many people are turning to electrolyte hydration products to help with their fitness training.
However, it’s important that the right levels of electrolytes – which can include sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium – are maintained in the body, and so products like electrolyte sachets are becoming increasingly popular. Whether it’s for running or other sports like football, or just ensuring optimal hydration and mineral levels, there are many options out there.
But there’s one active wellness brand, backed by England footballers Eberechi Eze and Chris Smalling, that is receiving high praise from users – and they have recently launched a new limited edition flavour. Following the launch of its Electrolytes Hydration range, Virtue has introduced a new Pink Candy Floss flavour, and shoppers are calling it ‘delicious’.
The new Pink Candy Floss flavour has been developed as a ‘nostalgic new take on hydration’, while still offering the same powerful rehydration benefits in an exciting, ‘flavour-forward’ sachet, the brand says. The range delivers 2,540mg of electrolytes from six essential minerals, including sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, chloride and phosphorus, plus Vitamin C for immunity support. The sachets contain zero sugar, zero calories, and a clean formula for every day hydration, recovery and performance, the brand says.
To use them, shoppers should add a sachet to 500ml+ of water, and then ‘mix or shake well’. The brand recommends taking one to two sachets per day. A pack of 16 Pink Candy Floss electrolytes costs £19.90 for a one-time purchase at Virtue, or shoppers can choose the subscribe and save option, for delivery every two weeks or every month, which brings the price down to £16.92.

As an alternative, shoppers could look to Boots, which has the Humantra Berry Pomegranate Electrolyte Powder sachets, available for £19. This is described as a ‘plant-based, zero-sugar electrolyte drink for everyday hydration’, containing six essential electrolytes. Each sachet contains sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, chloride and phosphate, the site says, and there are 15 sachets in this set.
Or there’s this six-pack of Liquid IV Electrolyte Powder Mix (Passion Fruit), available for £5.99 at Superdrug, discounted from £8.99. These are said to ‘help maintain electrolyte balance lost through exercise heat and travel’, the brand says.
Back to the Virtue electrolytes, these have received rave reviews, with shoppers leaving an average 4.73 out of five star rating. One said: “Absolutely the best electrolyte I have tasted so far, definitely felt the hydration and boost straightaway, quality ingredients beat the generic brand I was previously using, will be my main electrolyte powder from now on.”
A second wrote: “I am so glad I tried this flavour – it’s delicious and electrolytes help with my postural hypotension. Will be ordering more!!” However, others left some feedback for the product, saying: “Smells really fruity but tastes quite salty.”
While another said: “Little bit salty and I prefer the lemon. Quality product for a decent price.” Most were pleased, though, with another shopper saying: “Really tasty product with good salt levels for me. Use post exercise to recover.
“Also have used on holiday in warm countries to keep levels up – don’t go anywhere without it! Better favour profile than some more expensive brands too.”
