Shoppers had mixed reactions to the new Christmas gift set as some loved the ‘cute’ present, but others criticised it
Tesco has divided Baileys fans after unveiling a new Christmas gift set. The supermarket is stocking a £10 Baileys Iced Coffee Christmas Gift Set. While some coffee drinkers love the “stylish” present, others criticised the set, calling it a “rip off.”
The coffee set caught attention when it was highlighted in a Facebook post shared by Food Finds UK Official. The post showcased the sets on display on shelves in a Tesco supermarket. The caption read: “Cute gift set spotted at Tesco!!” and the post garnered over 3k likes.
As per the packaging, the pack includes a Baileys glass, a straw, and coffee. On the one hand, several iced coffee fans loved the set. One excited shopper wrote: “Need to try.”
A second fan said: “Wow.” A third viewer told their friend: “Omg this is us all over it!!!!” A fourth commented: “That’s my birthday gift sorted then.”
A fifth suggested: “Nice stocking filler.” Another fan asked their friend: “Fancy a trip to Tesco??” and someone else praised: “Oooooo these look good.”
On the flip side, some commenters were less impressed. One response said: “Just looked at this to see what you get. It’s literally the cup and a sachet of freeze dried coffee. Not even a mini baileys in it.” Replying to the message, a viewer wrote: “No way that’s rubbish.”
Someone else complained: “No miniature Bailey included in the price what a rip off.” A similar reply said: “£10 and it doesn’t even come with Baileys.” Another fan thought: “Much better to just buy a medium sized bottle of baileys and a cup.” A different viewer replied: “Rip off tesco!”
However, a commenter did defend the gift set, writing: “I mean, it’s hardly a rip off when it clearly says on it what you’re getting.” Elsewhere, a shopper said: “This is glass not plastic and has a good weight to it. I bought it for my iced Nespresso and was glad not to have a Baileys in it as I don’t drink.”
