One customer found £66 of hidden vouchers
Whilst the Tesco Clubcard may have been around for decades, according to one shopper, some of us still aren’t taking full advantage of its benefits. Tesco introduced the Clubcard scheme in 1995 and according to the supermarket itself, there are 19 million households in the UK who use it.
Whilst members can use their card to purchase goods marked with ‘Clubcard Price’ and earn points on their shop that can be converted to money-off vouchers or rewards with Tesco’s partners, according to shopper Robbie Burke, you maybe missing out on vouchers “you didn’t know about”. Robbie took to TikTok to explain that he only recently learned of the advantage himself.
“Download the Tesco app, log in to the Clubcard [by assigning it] and you will see on one of the top little boxes it will say, ‘Vouchers’,” he began in a video. He continued, confessing that he only discovered this after changing phones.
Robbie said: “I suddenly discovered all these vouchers. They send me things like once a year like three quid in vouchers in the post or something, but anyway… you will find vouchers on your app.”
Robbie closed by revealing in the past week he has alerted six people to the app vouchers – all of whom were unaware of them and had “at least £7.50” waiting for them to spend, with some having “more than £30”.
“I found I had about £15 – and Tesco don’t tell you this,” he claimed.
Writing in response, several TikTok users were thrilled by Robbie’s advice. One of those penned in excitement: “£41.50 in vouchers. But for money if specific things but available to spend on anything. There’s quite a few there and they all have expiry dates. But can save £41.50 for Christmas food shop. Thanks for this!”
A second person hailed: “I just did it! I’ve got £4.50. Happy Days!”
A third added: “I just checked mine and I’ve got £66! Don’t get me wrong I will spend a lot of time at the till scanning them all but I’m embarrassed I didn’t know how available they were on the app.”
Whilst a fourth TikTok user praised Robbie: “Thank you – I’ve just found £57 in vouchers! Top bloke!”
Others, meanwhile, responded with additional Clubcard advice. “You can also click on coupons, this gives you money off on various items or additional Clubcard points,” one user said. “Always worth looking. If you want to use them you just add them to the Clubcard and they’ll be used automatically at the till.”
